The current processing time is 28 months, i applied for pr card on October 2022, just waiting for my security and final decision, anyone else in the same boat. I have no idea what to do, been calling, requesting GCMS notes, & web form.
Likewise, October 2022, still waiting.
I initiate a Mandamus anyway.

Not normal at all.
The normal processing time now is 28 months. I have been waiting for 33 months now, 5 months beyond the normal.
Yes, I initiate the mandamus myself.

It is normal processing if you look at other applicants. Mandamus is rarely effective unless significantly longer processing times (over a year) than most other applicants.

What is your information source?
If you provide evidence of excessive admistrative delay, your Mandamus will be effective.
In my case for example, they wasted 16 months only to check the eligibility. This is entirely unjustified delay and not acceptable delay in front of the court.
Tha backlog is not a legal execuse at all.

He never backs up his claims with any credible sources, yet consistently tries to sound like an expert especially when it comes to discouraging those who are already stressed or going through a difficult time. Over the years, I’ve encountered only two or three individuals like him, but their constant negativity has been enough to make me stop sharing most of my input. This forum used to be incredibly helpful, but unfortunately, their presence has changed that. I honestly don’t understand why the administrators of CanadaVisa.com continue to allow this kind of behavior.

Mandamus is used for excessive processing time typically compared to others going through similar processing. It didn’t actually take 16 months to review your eligibility you were in a queue waiting for your turn to review eligibility. Canada is a relatively small country population wise that has a huge volume of asylum claimants, protected people and refugees. There are immigration targets which is why processing has slowed. Good luck on mandamus but in general it is typically pointless if your processing time is in line with everyone else and expensive to file unless you have a very good chance of a good outcome.

People routinely post their processing times on this forum. Those are the current processing time not whatever is posted on a government website or your file as a target. There are also no guaranteed processing times. We have seen processing times increase because of the huge volume of applicants with a set quota. It is pure math. Not saying it is great the previous government relaxed entry requirements welcoming too many asylum claimants and refugees at the same time. Now everyone will wait much longer for PR.

I learnt how to initiate the mandamus myself. I am not sure about the foundation you that built up your opinion about the mandamus is useless.

In front of the court, the IRCC cannot argue that shit like waiting in the queue and huge backlog.

I can teach you the procedure if you wish rather than spending time to discouraging people.

What is the process, and when was it approved and you got PR.
