Hello, I filled up all required forms for Inland child PR sponsorship and submitted. IRCC returned my application with reason that 1344e form is to be signed by Parent in case of dependent child. My confusion is - does this form need wet signatures? The section where signatures are to be given reads - " I agree that by typing my name - I am electronically signing my application". I understand due to this it does not need wet signatures. I had typed my child's name in the space that reads - Signatures of person being sponsored. I think they want me to write down my name in this space (and not the child's)? Can someone please advise? Just after this section is a NOTE section that says - this form must be signed and dated. So 1. does it require wet signs? and 2. do I put my name in space for person being sponsored(a dependent child)? Many thanks in advance.

They want you to type your own name (the name of the person signing on behalf of the minor).

Yes, the instructions are not very clear.

For those who are filling out this form and for whom an explanation will help them 'do it' - this is my understanding:

I think the reason for this is that they want the person signing to indicate who they are - because that person should have some legal responsibility, and therefore need to sign their own name, and NOT that of a minor (who cannot take legal responsibility).

I think they could make this easier in a number of ways, but probably no point in discussing that.
