canada is advertised to be a heaven on earth . but once here i realize too much bureaucracy and endless paperwork . also the shelter i was refered to is full . still waiting on work permit. i am 60 and sleeping in my car i came with though they wouldnt let me work even though i have a driving license.
i checked and social assistante is just 700$ i dont know if i can survive time will tell
thank you
You didn't do basic research on the refugee process before coming here. I do appreciate your situation is very bad and this must be extremely stressful. However you have to be able to accept responsibility for your own actions. You have to decide what you will do next based on what you know now.

Note you said you were 42 in your first post and will be 52 in 10 years when you expect to get Canadian citizenship.

Would add that if you are 60 you also have to be concerned about how you will support yourself in your old age. The ability to retire with some quality of life will be very difficult.

I would try to get your name on the list of other shelters in the area. It sounds like you are on one now. See where others are in the area and approach them and ask if they have space. Worse case scenario they say no.

You may find the other shelters are not much better. You aren't going to get a private room in a shelter and you should expect that you will be sharing a room with several others. Shelters aren't intended to provide private accommodations (except in some exceptional circumstances and if rooms are available). But you can at least research and see if the shared accommodation at other places are any better.

And you think about the cost of insurance to use your limousine for business?
If your daughter is US citizen, she can use travel up to Canada to visit you. Since you are 60, I am assuming that your daughter is an adult.

I'm so sorry that my and others tax dollars can only offer a meager $700.00/mo for doing absolutely nothing. Shame on Canada for showing a modicum of fiscal restraint.
thats not the point but when we compare the amount to those in usa and europe the welfare here is very low indeed

hi i am 42 years old just arrived canada from the states i was illegal and fear deportation due to trumps policy. basically i already applied for asylum 10 years ago in usa but was denied.

actually ive heard asylum process in canada is easy how ever upon my arrival i was told it takes 10 years ++ for becoming citizen as i left all my loved ones there in my birth country and wishing to returning live with them after becoming citizen and i would be 52 by then and this was a shock to me .
what are my options please
so you are in a hurry? you want things to be done in less than a year. Funny! people are leaving Canada with no PRs even after years of living in Canada

It is a troll account, all operated by the same person who has been abusing the H&C threads. +1 on mentioning people who actually made contributions to Canada and had to leave.
