Hello everyone! My mom applied for the SUV program with 3 other partners in 2022. This is what our timeline looks like:

1. We received your application for permanent residence on February 10, 2022.
2. We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s) on February 13, 2024.
3. We started processing your application on
   February 13, 2024.
4. We sent you medical instructions on February 17, 2024. To avoid delays, please provide us the information requested in the letter as soon as possible. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.
5. Medical results have been received.
6. We sent you correspondence on April 16, 2024.
   If you have not yet provided the information or the requested documents, please do so as soon as possible. Please wait until you receive the correspondence before sending us additional information, as the correspondence will outline all information that is required.

However, no updates after this. My mom had her WP but it expired a year ago, and she didn’t renew it as she had other commitments back home. Right now she is currently in canada on visitor status reapplying for her WP. I was wondering if anyone knows when can we expect to hear back about the status of her PR? Should we call IRCC to check?

Your mother should receive PAL (Passed Admissibility) after the last step she reached. PAL indicates that eligibility is passed, information sharing is complete, medical checks are OK... In a nutshell, everything is passed except Security screening. After PAL, the security screening process begins, which has a highly variable duration - it can take anywhere from a few months to almost 2 years, especially if it's an "enhanced" or "comprehensive" screening.

You didn't mention in your post whether your mother received PAL or not. If she has received it, that means she is now undergoing security screening. If not, she is still in the eligibility assessment phase.

Normally, it takes about 6 months after ADR (Additional Document Request) to receive PAL. However, since you mentioned the ADR was a year ago, this may indicate that your mother's file is currently on pause because it's not being prioritized (please refer to Iceforest's recent posts above for more context on prioritization).

Lastly, I should emphasize that this is just informed speculation based on typical processing patterns. Nobody knows exactly what is happening with a specific application except the immigration officers handling the case.

Since Fiat@fifo had a very details reply that I think is extremely useful, I just want to suggest you guys conduct a GCMS note request to have further updates from IRCC officers.

In our team , everyone received Note response, for me as essential, it was written your security check will be started yours when all applicants from priority DO got processed .
For nonessential member, was written your file will be removed to inventory … as your not priority !!
So as we submitted January 2021,
Pre arrival of mine on September 17,2024
Still waiting….

I wonder if anyone is here with priority DO has any update on its application ?
Does IRCC really work or only wasting time ?

1. Since you got the PAL in mid-February 2025, I guess your Designated Organization is in the priority list, right?
2. Did all of your co-founders get the PAL?
