Originally applied Aug. 5, 2022 by mail, docs online Oct. 2022, latest update I've seen is April 2024, and one background check that has been outstanding for ten months holding up our application. Checked again this morning, same old BS saying its in progress. Seems to be zero accountability with these clowns in Ottawa, hideous communication channels, and no one (CSIS, CBSA, IRCC) can honestly tell me why it's taking so long to finalize our application.

If applicants understand where the issues are, it will create less tension.

So sorry to hear about your situation. If your file is stuck in comprehensive security screening you can follow this thread :

Tried calling IRCC exactly at 9am PST (That's when their call center opens for anyone in PST timezone) and they automatically say they cant transfer to an agent due to high volume, didnt even get the option for call back. Damn!!

So basically now we are stuck with no form of communication.

Is there some random holiday that only applies to IRCC employees that I'm not aware of?
Dear, the entire process and system is an absolute nightmare.
How can an entire system the serves millions of people be shrouded in such high level of secrecy.

Is the P2 to COPR timeline random? I got my P1 just day before yesterday. Don't know what to expect :(

It seems to be random, can be anywhere from few days to weeks to months.

Few of us are waiting for almost 3 months.

The only option is to wait for 90 days from P2 and if you still didnt get it, then call them so that the agent can send an email to the VO. But for 3 months (90 days), there is nothing apart from waiting that you can do.

Is there any actual instruction published anywhere that they have to act upon the 3 month since p2 deadline?
Or is that just something that makes us feel better and they do it when they want?

Hi, I don't think its published anywhere. I was the person who messaged here a few days ago, Actually I call IRCC two times and each time they said you need to wait until 3 months after P2 and only then we can follow up with your VO not before that. I am going to call them on Jan 31 as I would complete my 3 months. I will update you guys accordingly if it works for me.
