I had the same problem, after downloading my voter Id online, I could see my last name was incorrect. So I updated using Form 6 and after approval, I did my Form 7.

P.S The login profile information and Voter Id information should match exactly to add your EPIC to your profile.

Krish, I thought form 6 is for new voter who don't have EPIC number. can this be used for people who have got their EPIC long back and staying abroad?

Also Form don't have any input field for EPIC number. Is it going to generate a new EPIC number?

OCI Changes - Voter ID to be surrendered. As per the new guidelines, OCI applicants have to sign mandatory declaration and surrender Voter ID, Ration card before applying for OCI. The ECI Voters website does not show any records on providing search criteria. Might be they haven't digitized all Voter ID's. Not sure how to surrender without knowing the EPIC number. Anyone experienced the same?

Yes, you have to surrender it.
For Entry visa, foreign PCC and OCI, surrendering the India passport is mandatory.

I had opted for delivery option for OCI but later changed to pickup. However BLS website shows "(Passport Dispatched via Courier)" so it looks like they still mailed it using Purolator. Is there anyway I can get the tracking number and have my friend collect it ? I am out of the country currently and do not want my OCI to be lost.

You must have the ARN number, if pasport that starts from 24-200, for OCI: Cant0,
You can use the same application id to track on the Purolator website.

Born in India, never held an Indian Passport, and no access to birth certificate.
Per my prior consultation with Vancouver consulate associate was advised I may provided naturalization documents for the country which status was acquired via marriage and should suffice.
My walk in application shows under process as of August 2024.

Per Consulate inquiry they have advised due to current wait times may take additional 9-10 weeks. It is December 15, 2024 already!
Reference to provide passport surrender.
Reference to provide ration card or voter ID card surrender.

Frustrating that I have provided an affidavit/notarized document via my initial submission to BLS stating I never held an Indian passport.
I have spent $ to acquire a naturalized document and still getting a push back.
The delay or not providing a clear instructions what is lacking is so frustrating.

Anyone getting a push back for an application submitted prior of ration card or voter card rules. Now the consulate is asking to submit this document while application is under process?

Haven't you provided the nativity certificate along with the mea stamp. Because that is the only step is pending.
If you had atleast the first page of the india passport copy, then you might get the approval, but in your case it is negative.

So only option pending is nativity certificate along with the mea stamp. (Nativity certificate is made from local SDM office in India). You can opt for E-visa tourist to go to India for now. From there you can generate the Nativity certificate.

Purolator can deliver to any person at your respective place. They have the rule. And moreover, if the Purolator misses to deliver the package, youre friend can go the nearby sorting facility and collect it by showing your ID.

Thats worrying to hear. Was yours a walkin appointment? I think for walk-ins, from what I am seeing on this forum for Toronto, its delivered around 30 to 35 days after acknowledgement. So you still have time. I applied on 2nd December and got date of acknowledgement is 6 December.

Yeah it was a walk-in application in Halifax. My only concern is if timelines or approval rates have changed due to the new declaration requirement. This requirement felt like an unnecessary bureaucratic paperwork. Hopefully nothing would have changed because of it

That must be frustrating. How did you do the consulate inquiry? My spouse did a walk-in application under the category of her deceased grandmother being Indian citizen/passport holder. It has been over 11 weeks and still under processing. Consulate didn't respond to email and BLS says they can't do anything. No idea if they want any additional document. How did you reach out (or did they?)? Thanks!

Which consulate under your application processing because my acknowledged date is 30 nov close to yours let me know if you heard anything from them
