If we apply OCI in India, We don't have to exit the country?

Yes, you don't have to exit the country. As I mentioned in the direct conversation, get eVisa from Canada, it will take just a few days, relocate to India, then once in India, go to your nearest FRRO (Foreigners Regional Registration Office), and apply for conversion of eVisa to Entry X1 which you should be eligible for as you were previously from India. After completing 180 days, you can apply for OCI at the same FRRO. Once you get the OCI, you don't have to worry about renewing your visa and you can live in India worry free.

Thank you!!

I will research on that if we can convert e-visa to Entry visa? I think we might have to apply for one year one...

Looks hard because they take longer than this. Mine was 11 July and today shows processed and it will take one more week to receive it…

You would get the OCI in hand by Nov first week ( going by the trends) , you should go for Evisa.
