In the weeks ahead, open work permits will only be available to spouses of international students in master’s and doctoral programs. The spouses of international students in other levels of study, including undergraduate and college programs, will no longer be eligible

The spouse can still qualify for a SOWP but you need to be meeting the study requirements for your spouse to qualify. What are you planning to study?

“Furthermore, for most of the international students who are not studying in graduate schools or in a professional program such as medicine or law, their spouses will no longer receive a work permit to work in Canada.”
And not only that..letter of attestation from the province or territory you plan to study is required.

“We’ll return any application received on or after January 22, 2024, without this letter, unless you’re exempt”

Now most people have to wait until March 31 to apply.
