Hello I came to Canada as an international student. My sponsor who helped me to come here was caught in a financial emergency that he asked I defer to the following next year whiles working. Now the issue is I’ve been able to secure a fully funded position in another school that starts next year, and I am now aware of the implications of working while not enrolled in classes. Now I want to know if I would be able to apply for an extension during my studies and what my chances are for a post graduare work permit. Thank you.

You can't work if you aren't studying. That is working without authorization and this can certainly put your PGWP in jeopardy.

How long did you study after arriving in Canada before taking a pause from your studies? Or did you start your studies yet? How long have you been working without authorization?

I now understand that I can’t work whiles not attending classes. I’ve been in Canada for close to three months

So you didn't even start your studies yet.

Have you been working the full three months? What is your new date for starting school?

You're working illegally and need to stop immediately. This is a violation of the terms of your study permit.

And if I stop working wouldn’t still affect since I have started working anyway

You've worked illegally. So yes, it's quite possible your PGWP could be impacted.

The damage is sort of done at this point. All you can do now is limit the damage. Definitely you need to stop working immediately.

I am supposed to start fall next year

You should also be aware that you need a new study permit. You cannot use your current study permit to study at your new school.

Since you are switching schools without having completed a semester at your original school, this can't be done simply by notifying IRCC. You'll need to obtain a brand new study permit before you can begin your classes next fall.

And I would like to ask what you mean by new study I thought I would just have to apply for an extension after the study permit expires

Yes I intend on notifying IRCC I soon as I start so as to give them the proof that I am actively pursuing my studies.

I'm not sure what you mean by this. You need to apply for a brand new study permit and be approved for that new study permit BEFORE you can begin your studies at the new school.

And I would like to ask what you mean by new study I thought I would just have to apply for an extension after the study permit expires

No. Not an extension. You need a brand new study permit. Again, you cannot start your studies at your new school until you obtain a new study permit. You cannot use your current study permit to study at your new school. You also cannot use an extension. It's a brand new study permit. You have to reapply from scratch using the same process you used to obtain your current study permit, but this time with the offer from your new school.

And does stopping the work to limit the damages improve my chances of obtaining the pgwp??

I can't really answer this question. It's going to be up to the visa officer who processes your PGWP application. You won't know until then.
