Non-Indians and Non-Chinese on a H1B should stick to US. No H1b, move out. No quicker pathway to GC, move out. But I don't see the logic why someone with an H1B, easier pathway to GC moves to Canada.
Is GC almost guaranteed after 2 years on H1B for non-Indians and non-Chinese?
I guess it depends on the employers, right?

Many will string you along saying they'll petition for you but they won't or will delay. They're not stupid, they know once you get your GC you're not beholden to them and will likely ask for raise or leave. So in a sense even after H1B you're still in their mercy.

I have a few non-Indian, non-Chinese friends who are now on GC and were working for one of the MAANG companies - took them 7-10 years. These folks were doing good in career (e.g Senior PM on the way to become a Group PM/Lead PM or Lead on the way to become a VP) - they were considered very talented for their industry, were paid insane salaries, and still took them 7-10 years! So, there are no guarantees.

Hmmm let me see, perhaps they want their family to stay alive and not get gunned down by a neighbour because they unknowingly shovelled some snow on his side of the driveway? :D

A manager of managers can easily apply for EB-1C. That will be the fastest route.

Not joking at all. One of my colleague from Sunnyvale was mugged with his family just 100 meters away from their home, last week. They were returning from a walk in the park. Four people accosted them, armed with pistols. Worst part? No police complain till day. Its weird out there.

I thought so too. But apparently, it isn't that way. I didn't budge for more info, but this friend of mine had raised $XX mil with another American founder. She couldn't leave her job at MAANG as she still needed to have her GC. Her own company was well on the growth path for 2 years before she could officially join as the CXO. All that because H1B implies any work done by her would be eventually owned by the MAANG company. She quit very soon after GC afaik.

She should look into O-1. Anyways, I guess her lawyers would know better.

It is that way as I know plenty that have taken EB1C GC in up to 18 months. And some were Indian citizens too (when there was no retrogression for EB1C for Indian folks)

Yup. I saw a post from an India guy. He was employed by Google in India and they give him choice to move to US either on h1b or L1B. He declined the US offer. 1 year later he moved to another US company as a senior manager. Then he moved to US on a L1A and convinced his employer to file his Eb1 GC immediately. Fast forward, he got his GC in 15 months. Cross checked his story on LinkedIn. He has 11 yrs of total experience. You wouldn’t believe what is educational background was in…freaking Hotel Management degree. Guy managed to learn some tools in IT and at 37 he is a Permanent Resident of US.

Precisely why I am hesitant to move back to US.

Where you are employed has nothing to do with GC processing. You can be employed in a start up that has a head count of 10 people, and still get your GC quickly. Yes, timeline is less than 18 months if you hire an Indian or Chinese or other South Asian attorneys. If you are stuck with Ameican born attroneys, timeline could increase a bit. The reason is non-Americans know how to get the job done. I am saying this from personal exprience.

Its simple. If your lawyer looks like any of these two, you are good!

Infact, someone should open a Harold and Kumar Partnership firm. It will do great business.

My entire team at work is made of immigrants. 3 indians, 3 chinese, 2 russians, 4 vietnamese, 2 pakistani, 1 sri lankan and headed by an iranian boss! We are called "ever greens" because all our projects are always green. We just know how to make it green.

Hi guys,
I just got this on my account:
The Government of Ontario is interested in considering you for nomination under its Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) through Express Entry.

And so I have a couple of questions:
1) how long does it take to get nomination after applying through this invitation?
2) is it wise to go through pnp or wait for fsw draw as my point is currently sitting at 478.
3)I would prefer Ontario anyway, likely even if I go through fsw, so my question is, is it faster to go through pnp or wait for fsw. And finally is it really an pnp invitation?
thank You.

1. I'm not sure. Check the forum or Myimmitracker for that info(use PNP filters).
2. This is just an invitation to apply. This will increase your options and immigration is about increase your options. No one knows if 478 will get an ITA. Unless that money is a deal breaker, nothing against taking this route.
3. After nomination you get 600 points - file through EE with it. You'll be processed fast.

Last question - I don't know what you mean, but if it looks anything like this you are good: https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/did-ontario-conduct-tech-draw-on-october-27-2021-i-got-an-invite-to-apply-for-pnp-generic-email-with-my-name.748214/
