For me as well!It changed for me background in progress too ...
I hope it's the later...Background process changed to "in progress" for me too. May be a bug or they send all the "not started" profile files to CSIS for security checks before going for strike lol
I omitted the word "diploma" from my IMM5669. I just put the word "High School", then I put "secondary" in the field of study. Should be commonsensical enough for IRCC...I'm working on the IMM5669 - hopefully, someone can help? it wants me to list my secondary education which I assume is high school. What should I put for "Type of certificate or diploma issued"? I want to say "High School Diploma" but apparently the max character limit is 17 characters.

just checked, my as well.Many applicants' background verification status in the IRCC tracker changed to in progress today. I think that's a bug...
