Contacted my MP and got the following response, hopefully I get something soon.

  • PR application in process at present, Canadian Experience Class received on May 12, 2021
  • All assessments passed, processing time is 20 months (going to January 12, 2023)
  • Decision to be sent to applicant in due time
Hi! thanks for sharing!
What do they mean by "going to January 12, 2023"?

I am not 100% sure but the MP's office advised that if I don't get anything from IRCC by January 12th, let them know and they'll contact IRCC again.

I contacted a lawyer and sent a mandamus demand letter, it was quite expensive and I thought it didn't work but it did get my 18 month old application moving again. (I didn't go for the second stage of the mandamus route)

Demand letter sent in mid September
PR approved on file on October 21st but no official confirmation from the IRCC (this was told to me by my MP's office who contacted the IRCC)
Received Portal email a few days ago

My profile got an update today, requesting medicals for my spouse and I. So, this will be the 2nd time doing medicals for this PR application. That seems ridiculous as we did upfront medicals. Is there a way around having to do medicals again?

So you received like a formal request through your GCkey?if so, i don't think there is a way around it. I had to remind them myself that my medical expired, they then granted me extension but eventually processing times passed beyond the extended date so I ended up doing my medicals again.

I have finally got my GCMS notes. There is a note that says: " FILE APPROVED. FILE RFV" dated 2022/10/07 - (i'm guessing this is October 7th,not July 10th) Anyone has seen this on their notes? Any interpretation?

I would follow up with my physician, who did my medicals, to check if they have completed and sent info to IRCC. Once they say it is done, check with IRCC to update your medical status on your file. I've noticed a pattern that once 2nd medical results are received by IRCC, officer finalizes your application pretty quickly. So, my guess is it depends how fast your physician sends the info. You will probably hear some goods news soon :) keep us posted

Hi, I got a request letter asking me to either submit my passport or let them know if I'm in Canada. I let them know I was in Canada via the webform. Curious of the timeline from here. Is this normal to receivesuch a letter?

Congratulations, request to submit passport means your PR is approved. Will take further process to issue the PR card, but your application is finally approved.

I dont trust their stupid webform anymore. I submitted the form twice to let them know I'm in Canada. Three months later my officer was still unaware that I'm in Canada. Literally wrote a note saying "PA is still outside of Canada". My advice - call them.
