Hi Everyone. My parents visitor visa (tourist) is getting expired in few months. I like to renew the visa before their trip to Canada. How many months before the expiry, is it ideal to apply for renewal. Is the process same as applying visa for the first time? Thanks a lot

They can apply anytime. It is a new permit as there is not such thing as renewal. If they have valid TRVs, it may be processed faster.

Do it ASAP while it's active and valid, the processing may be done faster with an existing visa, but make sure to still address and submit all documents required.

Applied May 8, refused today. Not enough funds in my wife's account and they're not satisfied that she'll leave when the trip is over. She's a Brazilian citizen who has lived in Portugal since childhood, and I'm a Canadian citizen by birth.

I knew this was coming from lurking on the forums after submitting. I made the mistake of thinking Canada would be like the Schengen visas I've helped my mom apply for, where you just provide the info they're asking for and that's that. I didn't realize that you needed all this backup info to insure that you really will leave, etc.

It's just tough because we wanted the TRV so she could come here for a month (in winter!) and see if she would actually like living here. I'm sure we will get approved for the spousal PR, so I feel like we wasted time and money waiting on this and I got her hopes up unnecessarily.

Got rejected for my wife's visitor visa today. We went through a lawyer this time and this is disappointing to the core, you wait for 6 months only for rejection. The spouse visa timelines are 2 years currently, your entire life planning hangs in the hands of immigration case officers and immigration departments. Timelines

File submitted - May 28th
Rejected - November 17
Reason - you do not have significant family ties outside Canada.
The purpose of your visit to Canada is not consistent with a temporary stay.

Hi everyone, I really need your help. I'm applying visit visa for my parents and my brothers. I have got the CA valuation for my parents ( properties and income) and my brothers business. But my brother doesn't have any properties on his name. Is business is enough? Is that creates any problems to his application?

Any help can be appreciated

Your brother, I assume is over 22, so he shows his own funds, travel history, and ties to his home country. If he has a business, then he provides business registration, client letters, and receipts to prove business. If he is single then he has no ties to return to family. Is it enough...he will not know until he applies and receives an answer.
