Hey guys. I will be moving to Canada via air (hard landing). I have a question about this form: https://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/publications/forms-formulaires/e311-eng.html. What do we need to put in for Part B for the first-time PR? Do we just skip part B and C all together?
Congrats, Bud. I soft landed via land border and never had to provide this one. I have been making couple of trips past few weeks via land but never asked about this. They only asked if I carry anything excess of 10K.

Guys, can we apply for PR card from outside Canada?

Thank you, my guy. I see. Thanks anyways.

Not really. Canada does not deliver it to an address outside. Inside Canada, if you get it delivered, you will have to provide a residential address.

Typical in an airplane they give this form to fill. Part B does not seem to apply to people landing as PR. Don't worry, the immigration folks will tell you if you are missing some part to fill.

I do have an address (friend's) inside Canada. I just wanted to know if it is considered illegal if I apply it from US.

I guess - updating a Canadian address on your file should trigger PR card process (if not already started)
I haven't updated. it Can I update even though I haven't moved to Canada permanently? I am going to move (land border) in mid Jan, but wanted to see the option to apply for the PR card prior to my move.

you can update address by calling IRCC . however whether its legal to do that from outside of Canada - a point of discussion.

IRCC asks your residential address when applying for a PR Card. You can give a temporary residetial address and thats fine. But I if you are intentionally not going to stay in an address and give it as a residential address? smells fishy to say the least. It may not be a misrep but certainly not the norm as well.
Many times you do not have right processes even for perfectly legal case.

Gotcha. Thanks.

So for people not in the US, a "soft landing" is basically not possible?

Giving a friend's address is equivalent to lying. And CBSA tracks everything you do, so who's to say this won't come back during citizenship application?
