You will get oath invitation email 1 or 2 weeks before the ceremony. Contact IRCC if you don’t receive the email 5 to 7 days before the ceremony date.
I always thought IRCC takes more than a week to respond to the case specific inquiry. The only way to get in touch with them 5-7 days before is by call? But my experience with call is I hardly get through :(

I received an email to appear for an online interview with IRCC via MS teams
Anyone else who has appeared for an interview? Can you share your experience?

The line is always busy and sometimes they can't transfer the call to an agent. You need to keep trying.

Thanks Farah. I really want to know if it will be in person or online, so I can plan a day off or working from home :D I want it in person tbh, so I can book to fly somewhere.
I don't know if at this point of time IRCC customer service can tell me if it's in person or virtual
tbh with you, a virtual ceremony (I witnessed my wife's ceremony ~ 3 hours) takes more time than an in-person one :p And the officers constantly watch and make sure you pay full attention to the video call anyway. So mostly likely you'll need to plan a day off.

The duration can varies from ceremony to ceremony. I took virtual oath on October 17, it was less than 2 hours.

I recommend you to reach out to your local office mentioning that your PR is expiring soon and you're planning to travel, this might help to speed up your application process.
Thank you! But I really don’t know my processing office, the email says west but nothing else, how do you know?

My wife and I jointly applied in September. Her status is "DECISION MADE" on ecas and everything completed while mine is still IN PROGRESS. In progress fields are: Language skills (I went to school here), Physical presence (I had absences but for work), Prohibitions (None). Citizenship test was completed in May. I am not sure what to do at this stage. Can I call IRCC up and ask?

Many thanks for your help.

Contact the IRCC call centre. They will be able to say if it is in person or virtual. The agent was able to tell me about my oath.
I called them and they told me it's virtual. Thanks

Did anyone have an in-person oath ceremony at Scarborough or any other GTA office? If yes, let me know if you receive the citizenship certificate the same day as the ceremony in person?

My ceremony is tomorrow! I'm getting my guarantor to sign and date my passport application this weekend i.e. after my ceremony but before my certificate arrives, which I'm assuming is fine as I will legally be a citizen by that point, just without the certificate to say so? I wasn't sure if the certificate is going to be dated with tomorrow's date or the date of issue.
