I think I'm not clear if it's exempt or not...
An exemption is for an Inter-company transfer to a Canadian office, post-doc research at a university, job through Free Trade Agreement such as US etc. If you just got a job offer and not from a FTA, then you are not LMIA exempt. Ask employer to apply for LMIA (they pay $1k) as the employer would have posted the job for months and had found no Canadian or PR to do the job, only you were qualified. This will allow you to file for closed work permit, if you don’t get nomination. It will strengthen EE profile as you can add 50 points.

Thank you @Naturgrl for helping out. I will ask him to apply for the LMIA. But is Alberta processing the LMIA applications, with so many changes in immigration I wonder if with the coming NOC 1221, will LMIA be granted.

LMIA is federal not provincial. Alberta is processsing LMIAs for certain NOCs. So if it processing your NOC then there is a good chance it selects your NOC in draws.

Employer needs to pay $1k and complete a market/statistical assessment with the paperwork that the job was posted for at least a few months and couldn’t hire anyone in Canada with the NOC. Pay must be the average or a above for your regiona. Can’t tell you if LMIA will be granted. Thought the job is as medical administrator which is not NOC 1221. You need to prove through your employment letters that you are experienced for the job in medical offices.

Thank you for this information. I will try to get an update from them.

hi friends

on alberta immigration it says that 400 applications are pending under Alberta Express Entry.

Are these applications the one who have received NOI and waiting for 600 points

OR

Are these applicants who have submitted Express Entry profiles expressing interest in Alberta PNP

Thanks
shivani

They're the ones with NOI

After getting noi in tech pathway. What are the next steps? Will you receive any notification also in the MADI account?

hi naturgrl

in one of your replies you mentioned
"Alberta is processsing LMIAs for certain NOCs."

What does Alberta processing LMIAs mean?
What are those NOCs that Alberta process?
is there a list?

regards

Hi guys, My CRS score is 343 and I have relatives(my mother and my sister) living in Alberta with PR and Citizenship. My NOC is 2147-Computer Engineer. Could you please tell me about my chance to be selected by Alberta and receive NOI?

You probably are not LMIA exempt, but you do not need it for Alberta anyhow
Thank you @ilikesnow just waiting for the profile to be picked up. The waiting period is quite panicky. I saw someone's post that NOC 1223 recived noi in April, that means I should give 2-3 months of time to my myself and wait for it, as my NOC is 1221 Administration Officer.

To be honest all the panicking isn't worth, Getting a NOI with Alberta is pure luck. If this is your last resort, I would suggest to look for all other options. Don't just sit and wait to get picked up by Alberta, I did waited a long time as well, even in some rounds people with extra 5 crs got picked and mine didn't (same profiles).

There are chances for you to get NOI in next few rounds but also, there are chances you never get a NOI. Assess your situation accordingly.
