Finally my turn!!!! I don’t know how many days it took. Honestly i Stopped counting but almost 6 months.

Application Date: Jan 20 2022
Apply in Canada (Nova Scotia)
WP-EXT letter: Jan 21 2022
Submit a web form on: Jun 20 2022
Got a ghost update: June 29 2022 around 2pm (must have been after review started or before)
Approved on June 30 2022 around 3pm

I did a 16month program, got 3years.
I will probably do paper application for the trv. Will be updating you on how that goes.

Is your pgwp from the date you applied (Jan) or is it from June (when you received it)? So Jan 2022 to 2025 or June 2022 to June 2025?

Why there’s an expiry date on the letter
Your letter automatically lists an expiry date that’s 120 days from the date we receive your application. The letter expires in 120 days because

• it’s the service standard to process this type of application
• many employers and health insurance providers will ask for proof that you’re allowed to work
  • an expiry date helps satisfy their concerns about your status and authorization to work in Canada

If we don’t finalize your application by the date on your letter
If we don’t finalize your application by the date on your letter, you can still keep working until we make a decision.

If your employer or others need proof that you can continue to work

• if your employer is not satisfied with the information on this page, you can contact us

I raised on yesterday although I think it might not be useful. However, I just don't want them to think that I gave up and am no longer interested in getting the permit.

May I ask, what do you mean by raised a web form?

People who have applied for visitor visa on paper after getting PGWP.
did you submit your passport at the time of sending the documents? Or are you going to submit later when they ask for it?
The checklist says you dont need to send the passport now. But i think we have to. Please help

How come youre applying for a visitors visa after PGWP? Is there such a thing? I just applied for my PGWP early June.

So for people who apply for PGWP or Study permit from inside canada. Need to apply for visitor visa after they get their permit. Thats to leave and return to canada in the future. So if you have a permit, you can stay and work/study in canada. But if you are from a TRV required country and you go back to it for a break and want to come back, you need a TRV. And thats what im talking about hope this clears it out

Ohhhh!!! Yes definitely cleared. I am from a TRV country but have no plans to leave the country just yet as I want to gain my canadian experience as much as I can, is it ok if I dont apply for a visitors visa?

Its okay if you dont. But i would reccomend it. As you never know what happens and you want to go back for a bit. Its always good to have that safety net knowing you can go back and come back without any problems.

PGWP is always issued from the date it was approved. I applied on January 15, was approved on June 24. PGWP Valid from June 24, 2022 until June 24, 2025
