Hi I have sponsored my wife with my pr application. I am currently having issues in my relationship and have decided to withdraw her file for now. I am wondering if somehow everything works out between us would I be able to sponsor my wife in future.

Please if some one can advise.

thank you

More details are needed.

Do you mean that you have applied for PR yourself and included your wife as a dependent? If so, when you say that you decided to withdraw her file, what do you mean by that exactly? Have you changed her to non-accompanying in your application or have you done something else?

I first applied for permanent residency under canadian experience class and while my application was in process i got married and then added her to my application as spousal and now i have withdrawn her application because we are having issues going on currently and i am scared that she just wanted to come here. So i have withdrawn her application and want to wait it out a bit to see if issues resolve or if we might get divorced. So i want to know if i have withdrawn her application now…..would i be able to sponsor her in future if things get better

and maybe by then i might have gotten my pr approved…

so all i am trying to know is if i can sponsor her in future if the issues resolve

I still don't know what you mean by "withdraw her application".

I have taken her application out completely she is no longer involved in my application now its just my canadian experience class pr in process… so i want to know if i have withdrawn her application now would i be able to sponsor her in future if everything works out between us.

Thank you

If the application now lists you as a single candidate, then you should expect you will not be able to sponsor your wife in the future. By removing her from the application completely, you're essentially agreeing to not being able to sponsor her in the future.

If you want the ability to sponsor her in the future, my very strong recommendation is that you keep her in your application as an NON-accompanying dependent which means she will still need to take and pass the medical and provide PCCs - but that she won't get a PR visa when you are approved. If you do this, then you'll be able to sponsor her in the future without issues.

You cannot simply chose to ignore the existence of a spouse. You have to list yourself as married - this is not something you can choose. However, you can choose to change your spouse to non-accompanying and then you will receive your PR alone but will be able to sponsor her in the future, as the poster above said. But I don't think you can simply choose to pretend you are single.
