I sponsored my wife and her daughter (my stepdaughter) and we had to leave to my home country for job reasons. I am Canadian Citizen and I read the time of my wife accompanying me counts as if she were in Canada for keeping residency, what about my stepdaughter?

It will depend on her age and whether she is a dependent of you and your wife.

As a stepdaughter she is technically a dependent of your wife not you. If still under 22 she can be sponsored again if you return to Canada permanently.
