We received Canadian Passports on 15th March. Received SCs on 10th May.
OCI App (postal) Timelines for my family (myself, wife and son):

Apps Reached BLS Brampton: 16th May
BLS Status changed to "Under Process" : 19th May
BLS Status Changed to "Processing at Consulate": 24th May

We have India tickets booked for 1st Aug. I don't want to apply for Entry Visa. I've already spent lot of money on 3 Canadian Passports (express service), 3 SCs, 3 OCI apps, BLS Purolator Couriers and India Tickets. I hope we'll get the OCIs before our planned travel date. I'll keep you guys posted.

It’s little bit tight I mean sometimes OCI takes more than 2 months. I guess if it’s possible just take some buffer by extending India tickets for a month.
I submitted my oci application on April 30th at Bls Branpton I had appointment when staff says currently turn around time for OCI is 3 months.

Looking at the trend, you should receive it around the 3rd week ofJuly. Its a touch n go situation. I would recommend having a back up option of applying for visa around the 2nd week of July, depending upon the status at that time.

Quick Update -

My OCI status has changed to 'Under-Process' on 31st May. Of course the BLS Status continues to be "Processing at Consulate"

My file has moved faster than I expected. Looks like I have a pretty good chance of getting my OCI before my travel date (1st Aug). Do you guys agree?

Did anyone apply for a Surrender Certificate recently at BLS Toronto (Walk-In)? Can you share your timelines? How long did it take to get the surrender certificate from the application submission?

@jagadishgandhi Cannot say about BLS Toronto but BLS Brampton was 35 days between 6th Apr walk-in and 12th May pick-up

This wait is making me so anxious! Mine is at 29 days Under-Process.
Many of us are in the same boat. I honestly had lost sleep over BLS holding on to my originals for 50 days. Now that my original documents are back, I feel a bit at ease. You should likely hear something in a week or so, based on timelines reported by fellow OCI applicants. It is unsettling for sure, but we will get there. :)

Thank you both. It looks like I can book an appointment for OCI 5-6 weeks after the surrender certificate application submission. Let me see if I can find an appointment for OCI in July. Is BLS particular about the appointment type (OCI, Passport or Visa)? Or can I grab any available appointment and use it for OCI application submission?

These government babus do not care about the legality of things. I called them every other day and finally somebody there got fed-up and sent me my originals back. If they had lost my citizenship certificate, it takes 17 months to get a replacement certificate from IRCC :( . Fortunately, I received all my originals back.

I think BLS call center is located in India. They really have no clue what goes on in the offices here. Everytime I have called them, each has a different answer for the same question...so dodgy. Why do we need a middle man and cannot deal with the consulate directly is beyond me.

Wow, that's crazy. I'd be super anxious too, to keep my originals with BLS. so, for all OCI applications we have to leave our original citizenship cert and passport with them?

Do they hold the originals for in-person submissions as well? Or is it only for mail-in applications?

Hi everyone,

My OCI was processes on May 25 (processed, delivered) at CGI Toronto. For the last couple of days (since May 31), the status on BLS has been Counter Delivery to BLS Centre after OCI stamping.

I have to travel to India next week, so getting a little uneasy on the last mile process here. I have signed up for Purolator delivery.

Any suggestions/recommendations on how I can speed up the process? I have tried calling BLS, but I they put me on hold and am unable to get any traction.
Appreciate any suggestions.
