It's called a Ghost Update or GU. Ghost Update (GU) implies an update made to the application in the background (can be one or two, or more), it can be something as mundane as transferring the file from one office to another, or as significant as passing eligibility review. Not everyone gets GU. Some applicants don't get a single GU and straight away get a decision on their application. Ghost Update is not an official IRCC term.

I agree...it's frustrating and depressing waiting for decision to be made, families to meet, future plans etc etc...
Not sure all will be put up on hold...at the beginning of this year they mentioned some tr to pr will be processed now and few in the next year. So, guessing the delay would be because of CEC and yesterday IRCC announced that they will be processing Express entry over 6months period.
Better apply trv if you don't have one and visit back to home country. It doesn't affect your application under tr to pr. Confirmed with my lawyer.

My file is still at Whitehorse almost a month now.

Carefully review what you need to include and which fee you need to pay. I saw some people got refused because they didn't pay attention to what documents they had to include.
A side note: IRCC is going to announce a new policy which allows TR2PR applicants to apply for longer WP extension (up to 18 months) Currently, you can request for extension until Dec 2022. This policy will come by mid-June. The exact time/details hasn't been published yet.
You can apply for an extension with minimum of 30 days and up to 4 months before your work permit expires. Your family members can apply at any time.
Since your WP is valid until August, I recommend you wait until the new policy has been announced so that you can get longer extension.

Yes, not here but on FB group I saw some people got their approval with WH office being their secondary VA. I don't remember the numbers but there are some recent approvals.True..

When I called IRCC
They referred Whitehorse as my primary office
And she said my secondary office is Calgary …
When bg check is complete my file will move to Calgary
Same here, my file is also at Whitehorse, criminality is in progress for 3 months.
