I wanted to give a timeline of my mother’s application in case it helps anyone out. I applied using the old portal.

January 23: applied
January 25: Biometrics request
January 30: Biometrics completed
March 25: medical request
April 3: medical completed
April 8: medical passed
April 19: BVL and PPR

Best wishes to everyone!

no update on father’s application yet. We sent mother’s passport for stamping as either way it needs a separate envelope to send it to ircc. I have sent couple of webforms to have them process the application. As typically, both should have received the ppr together or may be in a days gap.

they have not even passed the medicals yet for father’s application. You got the bvl, so ppr is the next step. All the best!
I’m in same situation, my mom’s visa has been approved on today (apr 30th) but my dad’s visa is still under process stuck in medical results verification. I applied for super visa

your bank account > months your parents will stay x $1,000 x 2 people
Did you get this figure from official CIC website?

For super visa Tie up with home country and purpose of travel matters
Not at all. Super Visa does not require any ties to home country at all as it is long term visa hopefully leading to PR for parents. The whole idea of the Govt. introducing Super Visa was to unite families hence ties don't matter. But for Visitor Visa both ties and travel history matters a lot.
If you go through the forums here you will see not even a single Super visa refusal based on travel history or ties to home country. Most rejections are for missing documents or not meeting LICO/bank balance requirements.

Above Bold is incorrect info you are providing .

Basic difference between S V and VV is duration 2 year vs. 6 month and SV is only for Grand parents and Parents .
Still Tie up matters , IRCC want to make sure parents should return to home country 2 year or before , hence tie up matters .
One major difference with SV is it treated same way as PR process for parents LICO criteria which is not in case of Normal Visa

Click on " minimum necessary income. " section under url https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/visit-canada/parent-grandparent-super-visa/eligibility.html

and get info

Good luck

Anyone from Nepal who would like to share their experience booking the medical for supervisa?
I booked online but have not received the confirmation from doctors office. The earliest appointment I could get is on May 16.

Hi All,

My mother gave her medical exam on 5th May, however there are no status changes even as I write this.
There are 2 issues/concerns

1) While I know I may be worried for nothing, but when she went to the hospital, they said we are supposed to bring - IMM5985 as that is what they are seeing in their system. While we had received IMM1017. Finally they agreed to do the medicals and said uploaded the results.
2) The medicals letter is due to expire tomorrow - just worried we would not have enough time to do another one, if there any issue with the paper work.

How long does it take to reflect the result of the medical exam review? or to at least say that they are reviewing it?

Anyone here applied using the new IRCC Portal? Does it work for a supervisa? I am hesitating because I have seen some people saying they were issued normal visitor visa instead of supervisa. Can anyone please share?

That is not right at all. As long as you choose the correct category on the new portal, you might get your Super visa sooner than applying on old portal.

Can any one help me to file a super visa. I am planning to apply for both of my parents through the new portal. Wondering I have to submit two separate application or I can add the second parent into primary applicant’s application form as accompanying. Can anyone guide me with step by step please? Thanks

This depend on your family composition

As per 2020 IRCC chart your income should be as is as per below , 2021 will be also approx same
2 people $32,270
3 people $39,672
4 people $48,167
5 people $54,630
6 people $61,613
7 people $68,598

So sum the family members of your (Include Kids also) + Parents (means 2) = X
and calculate accordingly

Good Luck
how do we calculate is it based on the previous year income or current income ?

IRCC not release Income Cutoff for 2021
Data available only till Tax year 2020 but I am sure 2021 will not not different than 2020 (because of COVID situation)

Good Luck
