2) Depends on your Jurisdiction. For Vancouver, everything can be paid by either Cash or Debit. They do not accept DD for In-person. For East coast, you will need DD.
3) Yes - for SC + Visa, However, for OCI under Vancouver is strictly with appointments. Not sure about East coast, but I suspect its the same.

Use the wednesday Toronto consulate meeting and apply directly with them for entry visa , as for OCI am afraid u still have to go through BLS

So i guess we have to call them and take the appointment with CGI right? I dint know that we can apply via CGI for entry visa. Any reason to apply via CGI? Bcas with BLS itself we are getting entry visa within 7 days based on this forum. correct me if i am wrong

1) Had an appointment for Surrey @ 9.30 AM today (separate post on how I got the appointment). I reached BLS @ 9.15
2) I had taken a printout of the appointment slip since I never received an email confirmation. The security confirmed my name with his own list, and sent me straight inside the building (there was a separate line up outside the building for walkins - approx 8-10 folks)
3) Once inside the building I had to wait for 30 mins on the stairs for pre-screening and then to proceed to the waiting area.
4) Pre-screening: The receptionist quickly checked my application and gave me a number and I proceeded to the waiting area.
5) There were 3 operational counters at the time - another 30 minutes wait before my number was called.
6) The officer took my application, jotted down my Surrender ARN (from Vancouver BLS receipt last Friday) on my application, did not verify any of my originals, paid by Debit for a total of $388.10. Took like 5 mins. I was given an ETA of 4-5 weeks.
7) A side note: I did request for pickup instead of Purolator, since Purolator does not service my building, to which she was fine; but the issue was that I would again need to come all the way to Surrey (and not Vancouver BLS), since app was submitted at Surrey. So I decided to go with Purolator (eeks!) to avoid that trip.
8) I was in and out of the building in exactly 1 hour.

Documents submitted for OCI (VANCOUVER JURISDICTION ONLY):

- Application form
- 1 Photo
- Indian Passport copy (First + Last pages)
- DL copy
- Canadian Passport copy (Bio page only)
- Canadian Citizenship Certificate copy
- Professional Details of the applicant (A pay stub + a self declaration letter stating my job title and company details)
- Unmarried self declaration letter

All docs were self attested with just my signatures. Note that Checklist, Visa pages from Indian Passport, Observation page from Canadian passport, or COPR copies were not needed and returned back.

I never updated the COPR. I had it with my documents though.

Question regarding partB oci online form
When both husband and wife are applying for oci at same time what would be answer to

1. Have you/any member of your family applied for Overseas Citizen of India registration earlier

As per the most recent comments on this thread, you can submit SC and Entry Visa applications at the same time, but will have to wait for teh SC to apply for the OCI.

But CGI/BLS rules are elastic and seem to change on an hourly basis. So go prepared with all the applications and documents. Ask if they will accept all applications, and if they do, then you are laughing. If not, then at least you won't be too disappointed.

The answer would be No. Neither of you has applied before and are applying at the same time.
