If you are not looking for alternative options and still think that IRCC will process your files this year, I don't know what to tell you. Seeing how they work and their target numbers and Ukraine, it's delusional to think that they will process the files this year.

This CUNTry is such a mess. Have you heard any airlines suspending their flights in the high traffic routes for silly reasons???

Air Canada suspends flights between #Vancouver and #Delhi beginning June 2 until early September 2022.

The airline posted on its website:

Air Canada will suspend its flights between Vancouver and Delhi beginning June 2 until early September 2022. The route is operationally constrained because of extended flying times and a re-fueling stop that is required due to the current flight paths taken to go around Russian and Ukraine airspace. Summer wind and weather conditions in South Asia are expected to compound these constraints, making the route unviable during this period.

If you are scheduled to travel on an Air Canada flight from Vancouver to Delhi from June 2 until Sept. 6 (June 4 to Sept. 8 from Delhi to Vancouver), you will be automatically re-scheduled on alternate flights to your destination without additional fees. If you purchased your ticket directly from a travel agency or an online travel website, please contact them directly for your new itinerary information.

During the affected period, Air Canada will continue to operate up to 11 weekly flights between Canada and India from its gateways in Toronto (daily) and Montreal (up to four times weekly) as these routes utilize different flight paths.

Air Canada remains committed to the India market and will be resuming non-stop flights between Vancouver and Delhi beginning Sept. 6 (from Vancouver) and Sept. 8 (from Delhi). Air Canada continues to monitor global situations very closely and may reinstate its Vancouver-Delhi route earlier if conditions permit.

Dude check out air tickets flying **in** to China. Might make you feel better. :D:(

I know a guy who spent $5k (economic class, of course) flying in to see his family. He spent 3 months in multiple Covid quarantines, got to see nobody, and flew back to the States.

Is that how we get our files moving...hope that there's no movement on our files? We'll then... I hope there's no movement on mine for 8 weeks. Hear that officer MH26363?! Do nothing!
I have no other option. My marriage is exactly 29 days from now. If I get my COPR now, I will have to do soft landing and trouble myself with 1 yr processing time after I add my wife. I can do soft landing immedialety as I live close to Canada border. As my COPR gets delayed, I can avoid long processing for my spouse. Thankfully my marriage is under 30 days so I don’t think my security and criminality will be completed in this period. So thats why I pray for it. I could have taken the upfront medicals and triggered my application as people have been getting PPR’s after doing upfront but I did not wanted to do it. I ordered the GCMS notes to know the status. Its looks pathetic but ideal one for my situation.

I am travelling in the shitty Air India. Ticket prices are crazy. I booked my tickets when Ukraine issue started. Ticket was $780 when I booked 2 months ago and the same flight is $2500 now.

There goes the quota for FSW this year. Even the ones in the queue will land next year, I guess.
Those are different quotas.

If it's exactly in 30 days, then even if you get COPR tomorrow, then you can still get married, inform them and still meet a deadline.

Don't worry too much about it. Silver lining is that you most likely won't get your PPR within the next 30 days.

What I feel right now: people calling 2022 “2020 too” should apologize to 2020. :D:( Myself included.

If this feels like touch and go, have you looked into registering your marriage before the ceremonial wedding?

I asked 2 lawyers about taking upfront medical and both are advised against it.

@MajorGrom why are you saying this? I'm aware that they are taking a lot longer to process applications, but do you think that inland PNP applicants will also have to wait for longer than a year to hear back? I'm seeing on myimmigrationtracker that PNP nominees in Canada are getting their PPR between 4-8 months after applying.

With that said, can you please explain your rationale (maybe with numbers) for why you think applications will not be processed this year? (e.g., if we have a cap of 410k, with 120k already selected, this keeps a vast majority of PR cards yet to be issued - Ukrainians are receiving visitor or work visas, not PR cards, so this shouldn't impact those in the express entry system no? I understand that there might be delays, but they still need to meet their quota, which has a lot more room). I'm happy to hear back from you that I'm completely delusional here, haha.

You must be new here. It's always nice to see naive optimism masquerade as rationality from the newer members.

Thank you, I guess? haha
Would you mind explaining why you think that if I submitted my inland PNP in March 09, 2022, I shouldn't expect to hear back before next year?

Thanks!

lol why? Are you serious right now? Because what stops IRCC from focusing solely on Ukrainians (that conflict is FAR from being over) and then convert those to PRs under a different quota? Also, don't forget that Ukraine is hardly the last shit we will see. China and Taiwan are not exactly friends right now.

The rationale is very simple: IRCC has limited resources and those resources are busy. You are correct about Ukrainians receiving work visas, instead of PRs, but someone has to process those guys, right?

Seriously though, have the fine people as IRCC heard about sorting? Surely, it can't be that hard to sort files based on AOR date, right?

Almost everyone getting a PPR now has got a later AOR than I do.
Lol they don't have sorted() option in their system. I heard they have an octopus that points to the file numbers in the morning; those file numbers will be processed first.
