Hi also applied online but I am currently working in SG. Did u guys applied through drop box? Since CIC website have updated their system, if you applied online you would now able to see the progress on your application. Mine was submitted online last October 8 and it was only opened and read last Nov. 25.

I am direct hired.

I am having Indian PP and applied for WP and TRV on 18th Nov. I have no idea on the success rates.

I do not think it matters. As long as you have all the documents as per the checklist then you should be good and that the VO is satisfied that you will leave after your work permit expires then you should be good.
Unless if you are inadmissible (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/inadmissibility/)

actually i didnt apply, my brother's wife applied for open work permit & got medical request on 11th Dec, mdeical done on 12th dec. do u know how long it take to get the decision.
