Hi Friends,

I keep reading about MP inquiry in the forums. Can you please tell me what it is?

The situation I am, maybe requires one too.

However, I don't know what it stands for and what it means?

What significance does it have?

How advantageous it is for a case?

Please guide me and let me know.

Thanks in advance

MP is your member of parliament. MPs cannot change a decision that CIC has made and they cannot speed up the processing of your application. Where MPs can sometimes be useful is if the processing time of your application has significantly exceeded normal processing times. In these cases they can help by inquiring why the application has exceeded normal processing times. But again, they can't change a CIC decision and they can't speed up the processing of an application.

Thanks Scylla.

How and where to post an MP inquiry?

Should I write a letter to any MP in India explaining my situation or is there a request forum?

Is there a standard format for such a letter?

Is there any site where I can find these details?

An MP in India isn't going to be able to help at all and there's absolutely no point getting them involved. You need to contact your MP in Canada. If you are being sponsored by your spouse then you should contact the MP responsible for the area where your spouse lives. There is no standard format to an MP letter.

Your MP is not in India, is in Canada. You can find your MP by going to this link and using your Postal Code (address in Canada): http://www.parl.gc.ca/parlinfo/compilations/houseofcommons/memberbypostalcode.aspx?Menu=HOC

If you are not a resident of Canada, then your spouse can send the inquiry.

You write them an email explaining your situation and ask them to inquire about your PR application with CIC.
