If my parents are landed PR, and if are not able to complete their residency requirements due to any genuine reasons, is there a process of requesting more time? What is the impact of not able to complete them?
They are still within the limits but need to know what if?

Thanks a lot!!

2 years out of 5 is pretty easy to comply with. Why can’t they meet their RO?

I dont think there is an option to request more time. Whenever they interact with immigration (through application or at border), their compliance to residency obligation will be evaluated. The officer decides at that time what next steps are.

There is no known way to request more time in advance.

If they fail to maintain their permenant residency, they cannot renew their PR card.

Would those who could not complete the requirements will not be able to arrive for any other visa like the visitor?

They would need to formally renounce their PR status first before they can qualify for a visitor visa or work permit or other temporary visa.
