Dear Madam/Sir
If my parents are willing to come to Canada during the time of April 2012, what would be the best time to apply for a multiple entry visa.
Can we apply it in Jan 2012 itself ? so that once the VISA is received and then we could book the air tickets at early period for cheaper rates.
Can we expect the VISA to be atleats for 2 years, if yes then do they need to go thru medicals for the 2 years visa?
I am a temporary worker here in canada.

Typically the process can be about 8 weeks. The process for your parents is not the Super Visa path (see below)
If you are talking about the SuperVisa for parents, then you must be a Canadian Citizen or permanent resident to apply
go back to the cic website and click under visit. There are 2 categories for parents. The SuperVisa has different requirements depending on your status (see below) I tried to post the link but am not allowed.
To apply for the Parent and Grandparent Super Visa, you must:
be the parent or grandparent of a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada;
be found admissible to Canada; and
meet certain other conditions.
If your parents are just coming into Canada to visit then they may need a medical exam.
This is from the visitor to Canada section for all visitors whose children/grandchildren are not permanent residents or Canadian Citizens.
To visit Canada, you must:
have a valid travel document, such as a passport;
be in good health;
satisfy an immigration officer that you have ties, such as a job, home and family, that will take you back to your country of origin;
satisfy an immigration officer that you will leave Canada at the end of your visit; and
have enough money for your stay. The amount of money you will need can vary with the circumstances of the visit, how long you will stay and whether you will stay in a hotel or with friends or relatives. For more information, ask the Canadian visa office in your country or region.
You may also need:
a Temporary Resident Visa, depending on your citizenship (see Visas and exemptions below)
a medical examination; and
a letter of invitation from someone who lives in Canada.
