I had applied for a Canadian tourist visa in May last year and it was refused as I had no travel history and also not enough funds(Had almost £3000 but they still deemed it not enough).

I want to apply again as I have improved my travel history and working permanently with a major bank in the UK.

The reason I am more confident applying this time is of the following reasons
a) I had a Schengen visa last year and visited France, Spain, Italy and Germany.
b) Most recently I was fortunate to get a 5 years US visitor B2 visa and visited Newyork for 7 days in the beginning of January 2014.
c) I have got a valid Australian work permit for 18 months.
d) Residing in UK on a valid work permit
e) £8000 available funds
f) Most importantly I have made it in FSW 2013 NOC2131 and awaiting medicals

I want to experience Canada as a country as I am still contemplating if I should move to Australia permanently or Canada.

Should I reapply or would it be a waste of time and money?I would like to receive some advice from senior members i

Try applying, you'll never know unless you try. :)

+1. According to what you have described, you have pretty good chances. If you really want to go there, try again. Visa fees are not really big, you you won't lose much.

Good luck!

But don't you think that by trying to use FSW, you are showing immigrant intent? Visitor visas are often denied to people with intention to immigrate because they are more likely to overstay.

Sort of. In my opinion, you have to explain, what will make you come back to your country after you visit Canada (good and stable job for example). You also have to mention your previous refusal, the reasons of that refusal and what have change in your situation since that time. In other words, you have to explain, why, in your opinion, you are eligible for TRV now. Do not forget to support all the facts which are mentioned in your cover letter with the necessary documents.

Thanks and how long is the visa valid for? Does it depend on how long you want to visit for? For instance minimum one gets on a US B2 visa is 5years.

In Canada it s different. Single entry visa is usually valid for 6 months. As for multiple entry, it depends on each applicant's situation. Some people get it up to their passport's expiration date (which might be 10 years for example), some - for 3 years. I was asking for 3 years multiple visa with all supporting documents, but got it only for 1 year (VO explained that it was my first "multi" and that was the reason). According to what you have described, I would suggest you to ask a single TRV. And don't forget that the last word about duration of stay in the country is up to immigration officer on the border.

They have also included the $85 bio-metric fee now. What if the application is denied would they do a refund or is it a rip off? Thanks
