Visitor Extension- Validity

Hello All,

i have a doubt regarding the visitor extension validity or expiry date... I applied for visitor visa extension (visitor record) for my mother in law on September 15,2023. On November 1st we got message that a final decision has been made on your application and i have received a letter to do medical for my MIL within 30 days of the letter.
However there is no document regarding visitor record except, its mentioned document is valid until November 01.2024.

		Visitor Record		Your document is valid.	2024/11/01	2023/11/02		India

Please help me understand my MIL can stay in Canada until Nov 1 2024??

What you have pasted above, where did that come from? Have you received a letter from IRCC saying the extension has been approved?

yea she was granted a 1 year extension. The extension is only valid if she remains in Canada.

Posted under visitor visa extensions. No one can tell you time for processing (check IRCC processing times) or if you will get it.

Hi,
the detail i posted i can see on my portal where i applied for her visitor visa extension. I did not receive a letter regarding application was approved, but can see " a final decision has been made on your application" on the portal. However i received a letter from IRCC requesting for completing a medical for my mother in law.

Yes she can stay up to that time until you apply again for another visitor extension before expiry of this document. You will get a visitor record (just like a work/study permit) paper through mail.
