I would hate to feel this way. I am blessed to have a wonderful mother in law ... My husband gets along great with my mom as well but she doesn't get involved in our life which I am sure helps lol... I wouldn't want a nosy mother in law. ! hahaha

Well, I'd rather have a mother-in-law who wasn't completely mental, but since she IS completely mental, 8000 miles away is a good place for her. And it's not just because she's my mother-in-law. I met my wife because her choice of university was: any city where her mother wasn't. So she was a student in Moscow when I did a year abroad instead of in her home town of Kiev. My father-in-law (who is great) left my mother-in-law 20 years ago and never bothered to divorce her because he couldn't stand to have one more second of contact with her, so legally they are just separated.

I like wife's mother-in-law much better, and so does my wife. 8)

I am compiling as much of my paperwork ahead of time to make it easier. I want to get the fingerprints and send them to the FBI as soon as possible, but only if it falls with in my time frame.

It's presently taking between 12-15 weeks, the certificate is only valid for 3 months from the date of issuance. So if you submit Jan 1st, you'll probably have it the end of March, then you only have 3 months to submit. My suggestion, wait until February, then check the CJIS timeline to see if it's reduced and adjust accordingly.

August 2014 outland checking in. Applied outland since we thought it would be faster. Guess not lol.

Currently at SA stage, "Application Received" for the 2nd stage @ CPP-Ottawa. Any spreadsheet for US applicants? Based on the Ottawa spreadsheet, seems like things haven't moved much the last month.

I know US, Canadian and now some London applicants go through Ottawa. I'm not sure if there is a US only spreadsheet.

Anyone able to use "Check your application status" on CIC website lately? I've been getting "no record" and today get error message that the page after the one where I agree to security policy is unavailable. I'm getting SOOO frustrated. Paid UPS $55.00 to get our package submitted before I left the country to be with my partner here in the USA over 40 days ago and still haven't even received AOR. My tax dollars at work?! Really pisses me off that people filing sponsorship applications for fraudulent relationships are causing such long delays for the rest of us, like my partner and I who have been together for FIVE years.

yes, many people are experiencing issues with signing into ECAS. if you have not received sponsor approval yet, then most likely you will not be able to sign in at all. generally, ecas does not start until AFTER sponsor eligibility. Receipt numbers generally do not work on ECAS, only File numbers and UCI#s, which are not created until the application is actually opened by CIC (unless someone had a previous application with CIC)

Also, many people are not receiving AORs now, so there's no use in expecting one to be sent. Lately, for most applicants, the first sign of communication from CIC has been the sponsor eligibility (SA) letter. It is common to wait around 60 days for SA, so you are well within the expected time frame. To see how others from your month are progressing, check out that month's thread. OR go on the CIC website to see what date of application they are currently processing. there's no reason to expect you will hear from CIC before your application date is listed online.

oh, and $1040 hardly covers the total cost of processing PR applications when labor, technology and office costs are considered. I doubt it even covers 0.1% of what CIC actually spends. in the grand scheme of things, and compared to applicants from other countries, US applicants have a pretty easy process.
