my spouse has her PR and up to date Philippine passport .. she wanted to visit USA for one day with some friends
at the border she as refused because she didn't have a visa ! does this make any sense?
and not happy with attitude of border agents .. they all seem to be on a power trip .. in need of some sensitivity training / anger management / a good KITA
if the one day visa is actually required , what's the easiest way?

Thanks everyone

She requires a visa as a philipino citizen and since she's only a pr holder, she still needs a visa.
Once she become a Canadian citizen, she wont require a visa. Though it's easy to get a US visa as a pr holder.

That was a wrong move on her part. A PR card is not a valid travel document. She should still get a tourist visa from US embassy. Or yeah, get her Canadian citizenship and apply for a Canadian passport.

Your spouse was in the wrong - not border officials. She needed to obtain a visitor visa in advance to enter the US. She was correctly refused. Might be a good idea for her to educate herself on the rules before she attempts any further trips to the US or any other countries - and before there's any undue criticism leveled at the border officials.

Agreed. Your spouse screwed up and the border guards correctly did their job.
