Had a couple questions about the paperwork for requesting caips.It ask for requesters reference number and visa file number.Which numbers do you use for these?Also since Im In Canada I dont need the request form.So on the paperwork I put my name but do I put the address here In Canada that Im at and not my address In the states?And what form are people requesting mailed,emailed?

If you are currently in Canada you would select the "Privacy Act" option and do not have to pay $5. You would also not be including the form to authorize someone else to access your file.
Under Section B the office is where your file is being processed (Buffalo for people in this thread) and the number is your B or F number.

Seems they've updated the form a bit since our last request (which they just cashed the check for last night).

Requesters reference is normally for companies that have their own reference database.
File number can be blank, but the search may take longer.
Use your address in Canada.
If the file is bigger than 25 pages it will be sent by Canada post, even if you request email.

I am growing concerned! We had to send my passport to fort erie, because we could not physically go to buffalo. (Hubby started a new job around the time we got PPR) we sent it from Toronti on july 25 and was received on the 27th. However I know they say it "usually takes 15 business days" we have not heard from them. I requested return confirmation #(not activated yet) and signature. Should I be freaking out now??? Today is the 15th day!! I also sent buffalo a case specific inquiry 7 days ago, haven't heard back yet. Any ideas??

Thanks Kess and Baloo.Jayde said her and her husband just sent for there caips but paid the $5 even tho hes here.She was told there was a month backlog on the free caips so I think Ill do the same with a credit card so its faster.Maybe I should use my wifes so its canadian funds also.

OMG OMG OMG.....PPR PPR PPR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On a day where I got horrible news this morning, I got a text from hubs that the PPR email came in!!!!! Our file was transferred to Los Angeles within the month of July sometime and we got PPR today!!!


Here's hoping that Buffalo will get there butts in gear for the Nov to Feb group!!!!!!

I really hate to post this because there are so many before me that are still waiting......here's hoping...I will still be checking in and hoping to see you all get PPR really soon!!!!

Has anyone here had to redo their medicals because it expired before PPR? My husband's is expiring this month. We tried to contact Buffalo and our MP about that, but all we get in response is along the lines of "we will contact you if any action is needed". We'd like to be proactive about it so that our application will not get delayed any longer. Unfortunately, redoing the medicals is not cheap, so we are undecided.

My husband's medicals were done in late September. We recently sent a case specific email asking if we should start the process of re-doing his medicals, or if our file was almost complete we will not re-do the medicals.

Basically we were trying to figure out if they are almost done, or whether we are still a long ways out and should get the medicals redone.

They replied, I think the following day, stating than an extension for the medicals has been issued and sent to Ottawa and at this time we do not need to re-do the medicals. I recently got an updated CAIPS notes and the medical information is listed.


While there is no guarantee, IMHO it's worth sending an email.

PS This was about 2 weeks ago and we are still (patiently) waiting.

- 2 Photos : Are those the same format as other visas ? (TRV for example)
- I believe a form with hight and eyes color: Is there a link where to find that form online ?
- Anything else ?

There is no form for the height and eye colour.. just type something out in word with the applicants name and file number.

The photos are NOT passport photos. They are much smaller and some people in the US seem to be having trouble getting them done (we got ours at Costco in Canada without issue).

Hey guys, I've posted this on the main forum but no one seems to be answering. DO you guys know what to do with the barcode page that prints out on the IMM 0008 form? It says to "Place the barcode page on the top of each individual package." What does this mean??
