Landed Via Peace Arch Port of Entry today!

Super easy and smooth, we had filled out our B4 and B4a forms prior, took a drive down to Bellingham for some shopping and groceries and then headed home for the landing.

Went inside immigration, handed over the paperwork, COPR, B4, B4a and PP with visa. Waited, signed some stuff and DONE!

Can't believe we are done! Goodluck to everyone! I'll be lurking to congrats you all soon!

Got a Passport Request email from Buffalo this afternoon!

Overjoyed is an understatement!

The clock is running! So much to do in very little time!

I'm so glad our painstaking reviews of all the forms paid off before we sent them.

I hear you. I felt a little guilty posting my news, but thought it would give hope to some people. For what it's worth, we agonized over our app. We included everything up front that CIC could possibly ask for (financials, photos, letters from relatives, medicals, statements of intent). I think our case was very 'open and shut' in that we've been married almost 10 years, have two kids, we're currently living together and we have family in Canada. Additionally, our professions probably helped us (me being a web developer and my wife being in the medical field).

I am glad I inquired about my status. I have nothing to prove it, but I'm guessing that helped the process a little. Fingers crossed that you'll hear something soon.

My head is spinning now that I need to land by end of September. Is there a landing forum?

This morning we noticed the home address missing for my American wife on e-cas, I logged in this afternoon and we are now listed as in process as of July 20th, and they noted our medical results have been received!

My husband's home address is missing too!! This has been the only change since I've received my file numbers and that was AFTER I emailed to inquire in June!
Crossing my fingers we all hear from immigration soon!!

Since the time I received our file numbers, it was listed that our application was received in January which doesnt make sense as we sent out our complete package in March and to see if there was a glitch in the system and hopefully speed up the process (mostly wishful thinking, can you blame me?!) . I emailed them last week to inquire about this inconsistency and this is what they wrote back

e-Cas is for applications processing within Canada only.

Immigration cases being processed in Visa offices outside Canada use a system different from that used to process similar applications in Canada. As a result, the e-Client Application Status (e-CAS) does not reflect the status of cases being processed in Buffalo.
Do not use the CIC e-Cas on-line change of address system. Your new address will not be downloaded to your file in Buffalo.

I had recently emailed Buffalo asking about how we should go about submitting additional forms as well as an address change for me, and finally got a reply including the B and F file numbers and that we were in queue for review. We submitted the the additonal papers and address change by express mail and a few days later, finally have some activity!

Don't feel guilty! That same thought went through my head too but if we didn't post our timelines then no one would know if Buffalo was behind, inconsistent or who know's what. I figured ours was fast because of our age, my husband was 23 at the time of filing so there really isn't much of a "background" check to do.

Anyways happy for you and hope for the best to the rest of those still waiting, it's all worth it and it only makes us stronger.

Chinook, don't feel guilty! Its great for everyone that's gotten ppr. I just don't understand how they can be so inconsistent with their file processing. We have tonnes of supporting documents in ours as well, the only difference is we haven't been together for 10 years, only 2.5. He was in the military though so that may be a hold up if they are trying to communicate with the US Army or anything, because trying to communicate with the US Army is worse than dealing with the Canadian government. Ours will come eventually and really we're in no rush, my husband is back to school in September and we have no worries about being separated until December 2012... so as long as we're done by then, its all good. If its not done by then, I'm just gonna move to the states. haha.

When I log into my ecas with the client # the address is still there, when I log into my husbands with the file number, there is no address... maybe that's something... I guess.

I have until 9/29 to land and the wife and I are going to try and make a mad dash to get everything done before then - sell the home, buy a home, schools for kids, jobs, banks, cars, the whole deal. Probably impossible but better to not waste any time.

Will keep everyone posted on our experience.

Do you mind if I ask how you worded your status request? I have emailed them several times about changing addresses and have never received a reply. I'd at least like some acknowledgement that I at least exist in their system, especially now that I am travelling around Canada and the states (in Canada now.... ) until I visit out my paperwork starting on the tenth of next month. Peace of mind, you know!

Speaking of which, I came in from Vegas to Edmonton and the officer hardly even glanced at my passport. Just stamped it and sent us on through. Hopefully I'll be that lucky when I drive through Windsor next month!!!! And I was SO overprepared!
