When completing the updated information sheet that needs to be handed in to the High Commission with your passport it asks for surname and first name ...in my husbands passport it says his surname and lists his first name and middle name under given names ...so for the updated information sheet do i put just his first name or his first and middle name as it is in his passport? Also, it asks for his mailing address, im assuming this means his mailing address in the UK?

Dumb questions yes but id rather be absolutely sure than to miss something and be held up ...Any help would be greatly appreciated ...

i put my last name and first name and uk address and uk contact info. I didn't put my middle name. It has a line for spouse but remember thats only to be filled in if they aren't canadian citizens / PRs already and are coming with you to Canada, so leave it blank.

CONGRATULATIONS! That is fabulous news for you.

London certainly moved fast for you, shame that is not the reality for many others of us.

AKGAZ....thanks, very excited! It's strange...before I filed, we took 5 months to fill out forms and researched everything possible (including using an immigration lawyer) and the one thing I learned is that it doesn't matter how long it takes, how much you spend etc....some people just luck out and get a speedy response and some don't.

I'm thinking this is just payback for never winning anything other than guess the right amount of M&M's in the jar and win the M&M's :D Seriously, in my 32 years that's all I've ever won.....

Chin up, positive thinking and all that and it'll happen!!!

We just got our PPR letter in the email!!! Yeah!

Two quick questions:

Firstly- the vaild date mentioned on the letter has no realtionship to the one year mark of the medical exam.
It says "Your Visa will be valid for travel to Canada until Dec 2012"? Has anyone else seen this? Is this the same as saying he has until Dec 2012 to land, or the visa we get back has a different date in it?

Secondly - There is a table on the back of the letter that we need to fill in for information on Eye Colour & Height. I am assuming we only need to fill in the principal applicant as I am the spouse and am not immigrating and we have no dependent children. Anyway else seen this on their letter?

Here's to a stress free and speedy process!

Thanks AKGAZ!!!

It was such a good day and I still get a bit teary when I think of how lucky we've been! I'm off to the UK on Friday so will drop my fellah's passport in on the Thursday following so it's only a 2 week wait instead of the 6 - 8 that everybody else has been reporting!

Fingers crossed you guys get some news soon!! :D

PPR!   :D

I cannot convey in writing the primeval scream I just let out followed by a few tears.....and that was just the relief of not having (sic!) to look at ecas 4,5,6 7.....times a day!

Email dd London 15.54 Wednesday

Visa to expire 11 Dec 2011

I last had this feeling of starting a new stage of my life back in 1988 when I received my letter from the Australian High Commission in London saying I had been accepted to migrate on my own - yes I am a bit of a serial PR applicant! lol

As previously posted, we have bought a house in Canada and go (from my sponsor's house in the US) on May 31 to settle the purchase and move in so I can at last get my furniture etc on a ship from Sydney!

For the benefit of others, ours was a same-sex common-law application, we met in April 2009 and lived together since Aug 2009 but never in a jointly rented or jointly owned house, no commonly owned possessions and travelled the world (3 months in Australia/3 months in UK, rest in US) during our 12 months but we did have all our flight tickets, photos and 14 letters of support + 3 affidavits from family and friends around the world.

No interview.

Thank you everyone who has taken the time to post on this forum, and especially those who have been successful but remain to help those coming after as I intend to. Now it is my turn to wish everyone good luck and hang in there!

Congratulations, that's awesome! All the best with your plans from here on in.

Your application was received on the same day as ours and your timeline is similar except we got married in August last year.

Wow fantstic news AKGAZ! And also to dishy_max who started the thread (sorry i didn't congratulate you earlier I was a little caught up in the excitment of our receiving our PPR).

I can totally relate to the tears - I was in tears reading the letter, and then again on the phone when I called my mother and told her I was coming home! I was so excited that it took me 3 tries before I could actually read through the entire letter they sent.

I think I was more excited/emotional then my fiance who i'm sponsoring! Although he did laugh at the timing of the PPR which we receive on Israeli Independence Day - go figure.

So I'm going to pop into the embassy tomorrow before work to drop off his passport then we get to think about packing up our apt, quitting our jobs here and finding new ones in Canada, and planning 2 weddings!
