Both very deflated today, no news and no replies from three separate case specific email enquiries. Very frustrating indeed not knowing what's going on, now going to apply for an extended visitors visa

don't be too hard I sent 2 case specific and 2 general inquiries and this morning I received an email response from Buffalo below is the email i sent and the response

Hi I am trying to confirm if you have receive the receipt of the confirmation that the right of permanent residence fee (RPRF) have been paid .

That is what I got last week too. Was hoping it would poke my application but no luck. The whole thing is definitely take a toll on me.

Did you guys pay the RPRF upfront before the sponsorship approval from Missiauga or after the sponsorship was approved. I was told that paying it afterwards add delay to the overall approval time.

OK guys, some good news. (at this point any news, is good news right).

I took the day off work on Monday, to visit my local MP's office. I expected when I went there, there would be a line up of people, and I'd be sitting around all day. Not the case. I got there and was seen immediately. I explained my case and they asked me to fill out a standard form, to contact CIC on my behalf and inquiry about my file.

They explained that a large majority of their district is made of up recent immigrants, and 80% of their work in the MP's office is dealing with CIC. I was shocked, but also glad because I figured they have experience.

They told me to give them three days and they would call me with an update.

The MP's office called me today and told me that there are still outstanding things to be reviewed, security clearance and the notarized letters about my husband's son (regarding inability to obtain his medical, although he is not accompanying). Our file is set to be reviewed July 12!!!

The CAIPS notes that I had requested over two months ago and a Bring Forward date of September, so knowing that someone will review our file on in four days, July 12 is fantastic news.

I would encourage anyone to contact their local MP office. I don't believe they can move your application any sooner, but we would of NEVER got this information from calling the Call Centre, Ecas, or emailing Buffalo. It was very simple process, and we finally got some news.

July 12, I hope, pray, beg that the VO has some mercy on our case and I can give you all a good news update.

For some stupid reason we missed the paying up front part so paid on 26 April when we realised - hence our most annoying, frustrating delay ggggrrrrrrr, not liking today at all :'(

I also didn't pay upfront but paid as soon as I received AOR. not sure at this time how or if theres going to be a delay due to the backlog in Buffalo they may not notice

I paid back in September so well before and they STILL emailed me asking me to pay the fees...

No, my completing the form and signing was sufficient. They didn't ask for my husband's signature.

As each MPs office runs independantly, my experience may vary drastically to others.

Do all MP's have that ability? In response to my email to the MP, I was asked to call someone in my MPs office. I thought he would be able to provide me with information, but he never offered to look into my file. He told me to call him in 3 months if we do not hear anything till then. Plus, without even looking into our file, he informed me that our file has not been opened yet due to a 3 month queue line from the time you are issued an AOR.

Sorry I didn't post an update last week, guys. There we had one of our group land, but that was it. There's a little bit more news this week. It seems like we're averaging about 1 PPR a week. Let's see if we can break that average this week.

i did a similar comparison. didn't know that you were keeping track of this many data. thanks man.

A comparison:
His/her case:
Delhi received application for permanent residence on April 18, 2011.
Delhi started processing application on July 5.
Decision made on July 8.

My case:
Delhi received application for permanent residence on May 26. (He/she is 1 month and 1 week ahead)
Delhi started processing application on June 27. (How come I be one week ahead here !!!)
Passport yet to be requested (as of July 8, 2011). (surprising)

(But still, based upon the date delhi received application, i gotta wait one month and a week to expect a decision to be made. so my best bet for response to my case is July 8 plus 1 month and a week = August 16.)

Permanent Residence
New Delhi received application for Permanent Residence on May 26, 2011.
Permanent Residence Application Status = 'In Process' as of June 27, 2011.
It says "Started processing application on June 27, 2011. Medical results have been received".

Passport Request yet to be made (as of July 8, 2011).
