This process has made grad school look like peanuts! So glad it is almost over! Landing party.

We are still waiting. I emailed and asked if they received my husband's RCMP certificate and they replied a day later saying that they had. I was surprised at how quickly they replied!

We are assuming we will have to go in for an interview so hopefully the RCMP certificate was the last thing they needed before that. The wait is making me crazy.

I am following this thread and the "Thread for outland Buffalo applicants." Based on my dates for (a Quebec) application, do you think I'm close to getting a PPR?

Does anyone know specifically what's involved in Buffalo's/CIC's decision making process?

Thanks to those making the grids of application details, feel free to add me to the June list (that's when I, the applicant, applied).

My Permanent Resident CIC Timeline:
*05 Mar 2010: Medical Done (sent to Mississauga) - no medical issues
*04 May 2010: Rec'vd FBI Cert (and US State certificate) - no criminal background on either
*05 May 2010: $1040 Fees paid [RPR $490, Sponsorship application $75.00, Perm res visa fam class $475]
*07 May 2010: Filed Sponsor App
*14 Jun 2010: Rec'vd Federal Sponsor App
*16 Jun 2010: Filed for CSQ - Certificat de sélection du Québec
*23 Aug 2010: Rec'vd CSQ - Certificat de sélection du Québec

When Buffalo gets your application there are 6 Steps to consider in the process

1. they review your relationship
2. they check you are admissible to Canada and preform a background and criminal check...

At this point they will determine whether you need to either,

A. Submit more documents to prove your relationship or pay the rest of your fees if you didn't pay them all at the start
B. Have an interview..at this point a decision may be made on your application..

This usually happens within the first 2 months of your process..

3. Medicals are reviewed..
4. A decision is made on your application and one of 2 things happen;

A. either a letter of refusal is sent with your application back
B. Your passport is requested and Visa is Issued

4. Passport requested and usually mailed back to you within 3-4 weeks (depending on your Visa Office)

5. You receive your Passport with Visa inside and COPR and given a date in which you have to land by..anywhere between 6 months and a few days depending on how long you have been in process..

6. You Land..Application Complete...

Thank you for the 6 step breakdown and for adding me to the speadsheet table.

I cannot think anything missing that would hold up the process; fees paid in full, all certificates (marriage, birth, Federal/State background checks, etc.), full medical submitted in advance, numerous well labeled photos, extremely detailed answers to all questions, and the guidance of a lawyer.

From the sounds and looks of it...any day now!?

Poodles: A lot of New Delhi Applicants at at the same stage...waiting..New Delhi Visa office requests Passports at the beginning of the process instead of at the end..so you will be currently waiting for the to make a decision... Hopefully not too long...you are still within the 3-5 month processing period for your Visa Office..so not long to go...

You are welcome..the waiting is horrible and depending on your Visa office can be very long..Buffalo is not the fastest office..but just be glad its not got the same processing time as Nairobi - between 13 and 25 months It certainly looks like your near the end to me.. And good news is..its all worth the wait..and Landing in Canada is a breeze..if you have the correct documents with you (Passport with Visa in it, Conformation of Permanent Residence paper also known as COPR and list of belongings you are bringing and stuff to follow) Its the easiest part of the whole process..you basically have to sign and initial a few places on your COPR document and your all done I did mine last week and I laughed at myself afterwards for being nervous about it!
