Today we received our passport request from Buffalo! Finally
And Ecas still shows "in process"... but no surprise there, I guess.

Congratulations. That actually did not take very long, you know.

Our timeline is a week before you at every stage, yet we've still not received a PPR or anything other than an email confirming they've received the medicals

Thanks for the support everyone The weird thing is, we think my fiance's medical is expired (we're not sure, we can't find the photocopy of it) since we were pretty sure he had it done in early August 2009, but there has been no mention at all of a new medical being required. I assume they will let us know when we get the passport back, if it is needed.

I finally got my AOR. I received it in the mail on Friday the 6th Now the real waiting begins. Crossing my fingers!

The Visa office in Sao Paulo called my wife on Monday. They will be sending her Passport with Visa in the mail Wednesday Aug 11, 2010. So hopefully she will arrive in Canada by next week! I must admit this process was much faster than we anticipated.

My wife got her passport today! I booked her ticket on www.orbitz.com.
She'll be here Tuesday Aug 17th!!! WOW it only took 4 months to process both applications.

Update for my case to sponsor my US husband, FYI:

Application rec'd in Mississauga - April 22, 2010
Sponsorship approved - letter sent May 28, 2010
File sent to Buffalo, they started processing the case July 12, 2010
Received letter saying medicals had been received, interview waived, requested FBI clearance (I had sent without them) - August 12, 2010
