    Thread for outland Buffalo applicants!

Hi everyone, My husband landed on Tuesday morning, October 12th around 8:00 AM at the Buffalo Peace Bridge crossing. It was pretty uneventful. The paperwork took about 20 minutes. They processed the visa, said congratulations then he went to the other side of the room with his B4-B4A. They...

    Thread for outland Buffalo applicants!

I just wanted to stress, as some other members have recently, that sending in a complete application, including medicals, FBI clearances (and possibly state clearances for each state he has lived in for more than 1 year since age 18), and all the fees can help to speed up the process. Most of...

File transfer from Buffalo to a satellite office (NYC, Seattle, LA, Detroit)

Yes. That's what he did. I can't see the satellite offices asking for something different ::). There must be some standards (wait, don't answer that) :-X

File transfer from Buffalo to a satellite office (NYC, Seattle, LA, Detroit)

Buffalo asked for 3 but returned 2 ::). My husband went to the same place as for the immigration ones (remember, the cut down ones) and again, technically they weren't 100% to specifications, but they must have had no problem, they issued the Visa and sent the PP back within the week. L.A...

File transfer from Buffalo to a satellite office (NYC, Seattle, LA, Detroit)

I'm sure it's pretty standard, but Buffalo asked for 3 photos, same requirements as the original four immigration photos that were sent (except now they say it can be a digital photo). They sent 2 of them back with his passport.

    Another Buffalo Question

Minna, Their instructions say that they strongly recommend using USPS, but do not say they don't accept FedEx etc. My husband used USPS Express Mail with confirmation and it got there and was signed for the next day. He got his PP back 5 days later, with his prepaid return envelope, with no...

    Another Buffalo Question

In the instructions for my husband's PPR, they state the address as: 1 HSBC Center, Suite 3000 for mailing and 3000 HSBC Center, 30th floor, if you are going in person ::) Either is probably fine.

police certificate required, moving from NY to Ontario?

Others have submitted the FBI clearance separately, some have had problems with that. Overall, it is best that the package is complete when it is sent. It can slow down the process when an application is not compete when submitted.

Sponsorship PR application - Inland vs Outland paperwork?

I asked this same question of the CIC call centre. They responded that the medicals would go to Ottawa (the RMC for US) and be held pending sponsorship approval and then a request by Buffalo when they start processing your file. We did the medicals in February of this year, the application was...

Sponsorship PR application - Inland vs Outland paperwork?

I believe it takes a year or more than an outland application. Others can confirm. One more thing to take into consideration though is with an Outland application, if PR is denied for some reason you do have a right of appeal. With and Inland application there is no appeal process.

    question

I basically did the same thing as Giggles. The only difference, I had small sticky tabs sticking out from each section and wrote, Sponsor Information, Applicant Information, and Supporting Documentation on each tab.

    Application photos - Appendix B

LOL, I will forever have a vision of IO's sitting at their desk with rulers, while application files pile up all around them 8) :P We found a photographer that took the photos and cut them down for us (took him 2 minutes with a very old paper cutter). Would have taken us alot of stress and a...

    Thread for outland Buffalo applicants!

As mentioned in the following post, it is not necessary to contact Ottawa re your medicals. As for e-cas being updated, that seems to vary. Giggles and others have had updates saying medicals rec'd, my husband and others, never had an update re medicals, but have rec'd PPR and COPR. There...

Changes to Immigration Regs affecting spousal/cl/cp applications expected soon.

Just another thought about the things we give up. In almost all cases, I believe one partner is giving up something. And we are doing it for the ultimate prize of being with the person we love, because in the end, that is what really matters. We are just more conscious of it during this...

Changes to Immigration Regs affecting spousal/cl/cp applications expected soon.

Thanks for posting this rjessome. I think forewarning those on the forum and any future couples is a very good thing. Planning an application with this in mind can only help to strengthen it and possibly avoid some refusals (for that you get my positive karma ;)). SBW, I agree with you on...
