The reasons why immigrate

The question raised really needs attention rather than answering silly. One should ask him/herself the reason as it is becoming a boiling point everywhere in Europe, Australia, or North America where immigrants could come in and stay legally enjoying quality life!

Man if you are happy in your country then stay there and let them immigrate...why does it bother you

In my case the reason was that - i want to live in a country which is stable economically, politically and where
human rights are valued + offers a good quality of life.

If you cant address the real question then PLEASE don't make further silly mistakes in answering wrongfully or diverting attention. This question is of prime importance and it can not be answered with your situation, as you mentioned, because out of 250k/year immigrants you are the one only!

Personal accusations (you are the judge etc.) in Canada are not considered good so please refrain yourself from such accusations!

Yes its true that there are many other countries offering immigration, not in europe though ...only New Zealand and austrailia offer a similiar program (comparable to canada FSW ) . Immigration to europe is tied to securing a job offer beforehand.

Chinese - mostly due to their overwhelming population seeking opportunities outside China where poor quality life is main factor

Indian - same as Chinese but in remote towns of India the standard of living far worse than any place in world

Pakistan, BD, & Afghanistan - disturbed law & order situation hence poor income, low quality of life, no future for children

Middle Eastern immigrants - none from local citizen opt for immigration among GCC nationals, those immigrate are already on work visas only in GCC states even after spending 30+ years due to govt policies, enjoying good quality life in GCC states but fear to return back to their home towns after retirement, hence opt for immigration

Refuges - Mostly in Europe & UK and from South Asian nations & Palestine; reasons above

This means, 3rd world nations (correct word is govts) failed to improve the quality of life of their citizens, hence their educated elite look at USA, Canada, AUS/NZ, & Europe to live there. Even in Europe after the Balkan wars, life is worse for Polish & former Yugoslav states citizens, hence they look forward to come to United Kingdom by all means.

Worst example is Pakistani or Egyptian immigrants, they are far educated - better than any Canadian- but because their own home countries couldn't offer this elite class a better life style for themselves and for their children, so they come to Canada or USA and sometimes end up in driving taxis In Toronto.

It was NN74's post I thought was strange and made absolutely no sense. Asking where a flat is located is a completely reasonable question. Saying something is close to TTC could mean anything. I say that I live close to TTC because my house is less than a 5 minute walk from a TTC subway station.
