So, I have a weird situation right now. My parents both were requested medicals, and they passed the exams a week ago. This morning I noticed that the application's status for my Dad was changed to Medicals: Passed, but Mom's application still says "We need your medical information". Is it a common situation? Or does it mean, that there might be some issues with her exam results? They did suspect something and sent her for an additional exam, but haven't told her if anything was wrong.
This is not weird at all since people experienced the same in past. Although you cannot totally omit the chance of getting additional test request for your mom; IRCC most likely updated the status of the principal applicant (in your case, it's your father I guess).

Hi Paul ...
We are just beginning the Supervisa application process ...
It sounds like you are having great success!
May I ask a few questions? I'd really like to get this right the first time!
My husbands Father lives in Arizona ... He is 81 and in good health ... He is my husband only living relative ... He is lonely and wants to come and live with us ...
Myths and is a dual citizen and I am Canadian ... our income meets the requirements

I see that I am to write a letter of invitation and understand the documentation that is required ... All of this is no problem ...
Is there an actual application form for the Supervisa?
It says that the 1 year of medical insurance is required and that is fine too but doesn't it make sense to wait till the Supervisa is granted to purchase the insurance?

Thank you in advance for your kind assistance!

Rene

One year Medical Insurance is compulsory to put with the papers of Super Visa and that to from Canadian Medical Insurer. You can get the necessary forms and know the procedure from cic.gc.ca

The main application form is same for any other TRV which is IMM5257. But you can choose Super Visa as purpose of visit in the form. FYI, you can apply either online or via paper application.

Well, showing proof that you bought 1-year medical insurance from Canadian insurer is a mandatory requirement for SV. If it doesn't make sense to you, too bad. But if you choose to buy in advance, the effective date of the insurance can be the date when your in-law wants to come to Canada. In case he isn't granted the visa, you can have full refund.

Hello All,

Good news for me, My mother got super visa after a long effort. I applied her SV in December 2015 after five months later they sent refusal by mentioning her ties in canada are very strong, no travel history as well as her income in pak is not sufficient anyways i went to my riding MP to get letter of support and i requested MP to find from ottawa immigration what are the genuine reason of refusal. As per Ottawa immigration visa office did not receive my mother insurance document,my notice of assessment & proof of relationship. I re-applied with all these documents online n in within 70 days my mom got visa without medical by the way she is 68 years old with very strong Canada travel history. Now she got 9 years PG1 Multiple Visa.

If anyone want my help are welcome.

Cheers,
Iq

Congratulations, great result in the end after all the followup work.

Based on this, how you determined its Super Visa? as far as i know they do request Medicals for Super Visa, Do they mention on TRV that either its SV or Normal TRV?

Thanks

Hi Kazmemon,

PG-1 means Parent and Grandparent Super Visa.

Also, the medicals from the December 2015 visa application were still valid. Hence, no medicals were requested the second time when the OP's mom applied

Cheers

The visa in the passport will state Category: PG-1..... and it will also state 'VISITOR'

Hi All,
I am planning to get my parents in super-visa next year. I have US$48k (Canadian $60k)as my income for $2015 and the requirement for four member family is Canadian$45,206. I received this income while I was working in US last year for 8 months. Now I am back in Canada and continuing my work.
I will do my taxes in Canada for 2015 in early next year and right after that I will submit the super-visa application for my parents. Will I be eligible based on LICO as my income was from US employment?
