I just checked my application status and this is my time line

We received your application for permanent residence on August 17, 2011.

We started processing your application on January 24, 2012.

Medical results have been received ( I believe in september 12)

Does it take 9 months to process from January 24th or the processing time includes it and how long do you guys think it will take
I also noticed my mailing address has changed to my address and not the lawyers, do I need to update it to my lawyers address since the application was set to theirs

Thank for any help

No, it definitely does not take 9 months since Ecas shows in process, it is actually very fast after this update - matter of weeks or even days (5 days in my case). Fingers crossed.

I paid the fees in advance but I think you can also wait, they`ll ask for it with the passport request altogether and from what I`ve seen, it does not cause any delays so there is no problem to wait for them to ask for it.

I applied in Dec'09 2010. They started processing my application on Aug'3 2011. So yeah, I guess it's normal to have such a long wait for them before they start processing a application.

You can look at my TL on the left. The DMP office sent my medicals on August 26. And I still haven't heard from CIC. But my case is different... I believe it's taking longer because I had send in a request to remove the dependent's name (my partner) from the application on August 10th. (that is after they started processing my application ... ) My address on e-cas disappeared last week on Friday. And I received an email from Local MP's office stating that the application is with a VO for Final Review... and that I should receive an email from them soon.. *keeping my fingers crossed*...

I understand you might be stressed. Here is what you can do:

1) Apply for CAIPS notes under Privacy Act.
2) Or, contact your local MP's office and give them all the details of your file and request them to find out whats happening with your file.

I hope this helps.

I just checked and my address has be changed to my home address than my lawyers. I initially had my lawyers address as my mailing address, should I change it back to theirs?

If your lawyer is representing you and has full access to your file on your behalf then yes, you should fill out the Change in Personal Information form with your Lawyers address and request it change it back to your lawyers address. Make sure you clearly indicate the file number in the form. If you don't have a file number wait till you get a file number.

hey
the same as here
my address disappeared few weeks ago then reappeared with my current home address not my lawyer!!!

probably I am gonna change it as Toronto gurl suggested , as I am busy enough to check my mail every day
i saw this happen to other applicants as well, i don't know what does mean!! but likely they are working on your file.
I hope you the best

thanks
