Hi all,

Been browsing the spreadsheets for the Outland and Inland applicants and was wondering if someone can help me understand what the abbreviations mean (not the full forms - I know those) and also what sequence the applications move in a typical scenario for both Outland and Inland? For example one of the things I found confusing was that medical was done before submitting the application?

Since you are outside of Canada, this must mean that you are a Canadian citizen, correct (since a PR that is sponsoring a spouse MUST do so from within Canada)?

If so...why does your daughter not already have Canadian citizenship

Hi ponga,
Thank you for replying
Actually I'm a Canadian citizen by descent
so we are now called 2nd citizens
so the rules have been changes from 2009 that if kids are born outside canada they have to sponsored
my two kids are already canadian citizens only one has been sponsored

For those applying outland, the medical is supposed to be included with your application. Those applying inland have it listed as optional because of the processing times.

Hi Guys,

I need a little help.

We have submitted sponsorship application February 24, 2015.
On March 24, 2015 we submitted a VISITOR extension application online.
On April 6, 2015 we submitted a OWP application.(I just realized it after reading some threads)
On April 30, 2015 i received an email from CIC that they already received our Sponsorship application.
On May 21, 2015 - I got an Approval for my Visitor extension.

Do you have any idea when am i gonna get my OWP.

Thank you

The earliest you can expect your OWP is the end of June. But it's certainly possible it could take longer.

Hello Everyone

When filling application forms for employment history, there wasn't anything like Employers Address/Contact details or even Experience Certificate etc. How are they going to do those checks? Are they gonna ask us to provide those details later?

Or they just don't do employment checks in Spousal Sponsorship cases? Plz Reply

Regards

Hi everyone.

I have some questions about sponsoring my partner but it is a little bit complicated.

I have a boyfriend for more than 4 years but while I was applying to get visa under fsw program I did not mentioned his name in my application as my spouse or common law partner because at that time we were not sure about the our future. But before I get the visa we decided to live together to see if we can get along with each other. This was less than a year since I had to leave there and come to Canada, but we are still want to be together and may get married in future. My question is under which category(common law partner or conjugal partner) I can sponsor him. What type of documents do you think we need to prove our relationship? And would it be a problem for me because I did not mention him as my partner in the application I sent before?

I appreciate if you could help me in this regard.

Thanks

Hello

I am submitting an application to sponsor my wife but she sent all the original required documents (e.g. police certifacte) and was not able to find the original IMM 1017B (panel physician did not use e-medical) but she managed to send me good quality color copy.

What do you think? CIC will accept it? Does it have to be the original one ?

Thank you
The checklist asks for the original, so I would contact the doctor and try to get another one.

Does anybody know how long it takes for an inland application (Québec) to get the CSQ request and how long it would take for CIC after receiving the CSQ to start processing the permanent residence application?

You can't sponsor him at this time. You'll need to either get married or live together with him for a full year before you will be able to sponsor him. Conjugal doesn't work because there are no barriers preventing you from living together or getting married. If you decide to go the common law route, you'll have to live together for a full year starting now before you'll qualify as a conjugal couple - you won't be able to count the time you lived together previously towards the 1 year requirement since the 1 year has to be continuous.

Hi All,

I was wondering if someone can advise me on the below question :

I am a Canadian citizen and have applied for spousal application for my wife. It has been more than 90 days since I submitted the Application to CIC. I am still waiting for SA. I called CIC and they said they are still waiting for a response from Background check agency.

Can you or anyone advise me if background check is done for all applicants and how long it takes to get clearance from them?

Appreciate the response!!!
Thanks

Dear Scylla thanks for answering my question.

The problem is for now we cannot live together since Im in Canada and he is in our home country. we cannot get married because of some family issues. I was thinking about sponsoring him to come for a visit. I know that for visiting visa he should show that he has strong ties in his home country to return and I think he cant prove this because he doesn't own properties. he is still student and his family is supporting him financially. Considering this situation what would you suggest us to do?

thanks again :)
