hi everybody!

I just started to collect my docs for the application process inside Canada to get permanent residence. I'm Ukrainian citizen and my husband is Canadian.
Does anybody know do I have to translate my police certificate and birth certificate in Ukraine or its better to do it here?
And do I have to legalize both documents in Canadian Embassy in Ukraine? ??? ??? ???

i'll be very appreciated for any piece of advice.

thank you

You can translate them in either country. We translated my husband's documents in Dominican Republic (where he's from) because it was cheaper.

Hello,

I'm hoping for some guidelines and help here...

My boyfriend and I are looking to soon getting married at the Civil Court in Montreal. It should take 3 months before we can get that done.
He is Cuban citizen, and has a green card for the US.
I am a Canadian citizen and also a registered Status Indian. I lived with him in the US and had a child with him.
He has received a Temporary work permit for Canada that will expire in August 2015.
The employer and my father helped us co-sign the lease of our apartment we are staying in until April 2015.
We are now in Canada and looking to have him live here with us.
We are not sure that his employer will extend his work permit, as of issues with work, they don't get along.

What are our options?

If I sponsor him, how can I, since I have no income due to the fact that I am a stay at home mom? HE is the one supporting us now, as he is working full-time here with his work permit... but when that expires. what do we do?

Thanks guys.

Yes - typically you should not travel if you are applying inland.
Just for the record, this is explained clearly in IP 8 - the Inland spouse/partner manual:

5.28. Applicants who leave Canada before a final decision is taken on their application for
permanent residence

An applicant’s departure from Canada after the application is stamped as received or after assessment of eligibility for membership in the spouse or common-law partner in Canada class may affect their ability to become a permanent resident.

A foreign national becomes a permanent resident, if following an examination, it is established that they meet the selection criteria and other requirements applicable to that class as per R72(1)(d).

Foreign nationals are not provided with any guarantees that they will be allowed to return to or reenter Canada. If they are unable to do so, their application for permanent residence may be refused because they are not cohabiting with their spouse or common-law partner at the time the case is finalized [R72(1)(d) and R124(a)].

It may therefore be appropriate to counsel applicants who are outside Canada to withdraw their spouse or common-law partner in Canada class application and submit a new application for a permanent resident visa to the CPC-Mississauga (CPC-M).
This is the reason people are cautioned not to leave. There's no guarantee you will be refused at the border, but if you are it means your application will eventually fail.

if that's the case then you need to call the sponsor's MP to have them inquire what's going on. thre is no reason she would not have heard by now about her application being forwarded to the visa office.

We have been asked to redo IMM5669 personal history and addresses. Do we have to rewrite all the information or just what they ask?
I have also now been asked to redo this form. I tried to just make the changes and send them in but they told my husband he had to redo the whole form and send it to them. They also wanted his whole personal history back to age 18 even though I had put 10 years on there.

Did you end up redoing the whole thing?

Hi friends,

I Applied my PR on March 2013. On April 2014, Embassy requested re-medical. I submitted medical in April itself. I requested GCMS notes two times after that. In those notes, it is mentioned as Medical "passed - expired" and they received my re-medical report in incoming documents. But they didn't update it in client details. Its been 4 months after submitting medical. But no issuance of PR. For the last 17 months I am waiting for my PR.

It seems like, based on your timeline, it might do well to send an email asking for a new update. Do you have a complicated case? Maybe they have a few extra things to look over with your application that is taking them a few extra months than the average wait time.

In my GCMS notes criminal check, interview, previous medical, everything passed. I dont think there is a complication. Could u please tell me how to contact them,.
