Skype chat is okay. Send out copies of you travel itineraries, boarding pass, etc. Pictures most especially those of your wedding is important. If you are sending her financial support, you can also include copies of remittance slips. We sent about 80++ pictures, travel itineraries, boarding passes, screenshots of Facetime chats, remittance slips and emails and physical letters that we sent to each other over the years. Anything that you think that will be vital to the approval of your application, send it in. :)

Hi RHCohen2014

Even if the request is from London, UK instead of Ottawa coz I heard that Ottawa can only do it and not other immigration office, maybe I was mis-informed.

Well if it is, its about time, took soooo long.

Thank you.

it is my understanding any visa office that handles visa exempt applications always ask for a photocopy, not the actual passport. ottawa is certainly not the only visa office to do this.

I have some questions about the emails I got from CIC.

Background: My wife is sponsoring me via Outland application, we filled out all the forms, missing nothing out and sent it on them sometime in March. CIC got our application on the 1st of April, sent her an acknowledgement via email on the 16th of May.

First email I got from CIC was to submit Schedule A with all the supporting documents, which gave me a mini-heart attack since I've already submitted it. Minutes later I get another email from them saying that they would like to recall the email.

Now I think the matter should die with that, since they could have sent the request out by mistake and recalled it, fair enough, mistakes happen.

But then I noticed something that made me feel a little uneasy.

The UCI numbers sent to my wife in her confirmation email and mine in this email were different, is that normal to have different UCI?

And even though our application number were identical, it said "INLAND SCLP" next to it. Like I said, we've applied outland, so I don't know if we should be concerned. Plus, what is SCLP? My guess is "Spouse or common-law Partner"?

Thanks guys!

Hi again

Do you happen to know if and when its all done the time limit they would allow you before you leave for Canada?
Would it be 3,6 or 12 months?

Thank you.

It is usually the remainder of your medical results (expire one year after they are received by CIC). So if you have your CoPR and your medical is valid for another 3 months...you would have 3 months to actually come to Canada to land.

Hi Ponga

Let me get this straight - the medical I believe was received in April and they are now asking for a scanned copy of the passport's bio data. If this is an actual passport request to finish the process and lets just say that it would finishes in July, I would have 9 months?

Thanks

Well, I can't guarantee that, but based upon what others have shared here, the validity of CoPR (for an Outland applicant, of course) is generally good until the medical has expired.
