Good day everyone!

My husband has been already approved as a sponsor last August 13, 2012 and we are about to send the application for Quebec the 2nd week of October 2012 since my husband is from Quebec. My concern is my medical is going to expire on January 31, 2013 and I only have like 3 months from today before my medical expired. Could anyone tell me if I still have the chance to receive my Visa before the expiration? :( otherwise I need to redo my medical :(

Thanks in advance! God bless!
The visa office has the option of renewing your medical results with your previous examination. Of course, if you want to re-do your medicals, they will use the new medical results. For spousal, the medical grounds for refusal are narrow (danger to public health or safety) and thus they should be able to extend them. But it's up to the visa office, not you.

This is provincially managed, so you must determine based upon the rules of your particular province.

I stumbled across this listing about insurance earlier today, and it's the best write-up I've ever seen on the subject. http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/russia-russie/visas/health_insurance-assurance_sante.aspx?lang=eng&view=d (the Moscow Visa Office's website)

If it is an inland application, they will receive a letter or e-mail indicating their processing is complete and the local office will contact them. In e-cas it will show that information as well.

Hello! I have some questions and need help/advice...

>>> Is there any problem if i use my single surname in my spousal application? I just renew my passport last Friday, and still use my single surname on it... but my husband told me that i should use my married surname. But my concern was id already use my single surname for the application...does it conflict if i change my passport surname into married surname...even if i used my single surname on my application for the spousal?

I'm also using my maiden/single surname on my application, simply because it would be ineffective to return to the USA and get my ID changed.

In Alberta, where I live, they don't forward marriage information to outside governments, meaning Ohio won't be informed of my marriage. It's perfectly legal and acceptable here to have ID in maiden and married names. I know several natural born Canadians that do this.

Also, in this day and age, it's more common (although still not prevelent) for a woman to keep her maiden name for a variety of reasons. Immigration won't be shocked or think you're in a fake relationship. Simply explain your reasoning to Immigration and list your married name as a name you do use when declaring aliases (if you do it for anything right now).

It didn't say in your PPR letter? It certainly did in mine, in great detail. Otherwise, check the NVDO website and see what it says there, or send them a general inquiry.

Sigh, every VO seems to have its own unique set of rules and NVDO definitely plays differently than all the others.

I think so too...the most strange about NDVO is holding the PP for eternity. I really don't get the logic even if it is for security or whatever reasons. Its very stressful to have PP with someone even if it is immigration.

Bw, one quick question....I am not able to pay the fees online. Have been trying it for 3-4 days now but in vain. It says "Transaction not approved". Called up the credit card company and the card seems to be working out fine. Couldnt call CIC due to long weekend..this is also stressful.

Well, it's also possible the CIC website is screwed up - it certainly was earlier this weekend. A transaction not approved doesn't mean it's being refused by your credit card company - but you have to start there and then work forward.

If you can't get it to work, a bank draft or money order may be in order. :(

I gave a try few minutes back and it went through, problem was address change..that creates another doubt though...
The address when we applied the application was an earlier one and as we changed the house, we went to CIC website and changed the address. However, the change has not taken into effect. When i made the payment now, i was trying out with the new address which it didnt accept and the reason for "transaction not approved". When I gave my earlier address, the payment went through. Now my question is, in the receipt which address do i give??? old one or new one??? Also, it is asking for the client ID. Since we already have applicants client ID also (we have got the PPR...), which client ID to give in the receipt???
