Could you please let us know the address when you will get the OWP mail. I just want to know, Is it coming from Alberta or Toronto.
Did you submit your OWP with your spouse application?

Mailing my application tomorrow! Im separating it into 3 envelopes; forms, supporting documents and OWP. Anyone else do something similar?

Dunno if it's necessary. I shoved up everything in one giant bubble envelope Everything went fine.

wow same timeline, got mine approved on Friday as well ,the letter in my CIC says it expires May 25th 2019. A huge relief I tell you,
let me know when you get yours in the mail.

It says in the description how to send the application and in what order they want the documents etc. It says don't use paperclips for some reason, but I used paperclips anyway to separate only the OWP in the application

Paper clips is fine. i used it to separate forms and they had no issues with it. You cant use staples. You can put everything in a big envelope before sending it

I am inland and my background check started one week after they received my schedule A in April. Mine is still in process. It is exactly one month since the check started.

I am still waiting for Sponsor approval as well. I am a March 2017 applicant.

I called cic and they told me the reason why background check is taking so long is because they are waiting for feedback from RCMP and CBSA. Once they receive that info, then it will be completed.

I also asked about the Sponsor approval part. They told me that there is no specific time for it to come. Some ppl get it early and some ppl can get it towards the end of the process.

Just wondering why they need feedback from CBSA?

i sent my entire application in one envelope, separated by paper clips. i inserted my owp application in between the order of the document checklist that says "are you sending an owp application with this application?" or something like that.

to everyone else, an update on my app today says background check in process. it's good to see movement

Application mailed... and now the wait begins

Hello,Arminmor!!! I applied on March 3rd , inland from Quebec as a spouse of Canadian citizen. On March 7 they received it.
March 22 they asked me to linked it online.
March 24 I linked it after 100 tries...
March 27 I recieved an email saying " Dear......
This is an automated system generated letter to acknowledge the receipt of your application. Your application has been assigned the unique file number indicated at the top of this letter. All your correspondence with this office should refer to that unique file number.
This confirms that your application for Permanent Residence under the Spouse or common-law partner in Canada class has been received by
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) on 07/03/2017."

Since then , no new message on the account page for additional documents even if in the Guide 5289 says "
After linking your application, check right away to see what else we need to process your application. Everyone will find at least two
requests in their account:
a request to complete and submit a background information form, known as Schedule A.
a request to submit police certificates."

On May 8 I received by post my open work permit but still no letter/mail for the selection certificate of Quebec.

Hi Manitsa,

CIC has received our sponsorship application on Jan. 18 2017. I (sponsored person) linked the application to my profile on Feb. 2 2017, then I received a message on mycic profile that was asking to upload both schedule A form and also my CSQ. I did not have any CSQ that time since a letter from CIC was needed to apply for it through immigration Quebec. My wife (sponsor) received an email on Feb. 28 2017 that was asking to submit and udertaking application to the provincial government of Quebec. It was also asked to attach a copy of this letter to my application. I should mention this package also included a form for my CSQ. After sending the undertaking application by mail to MIDI, I got my CSQ after one month, on Apr. 6 2017. So I uploaded a copy to mycic acount as was asked by CIC.

After that nothing has been updated on mycic account. However, once I called cic and they told me that my they are doing background/security check. know this step varies for different people depending on their nationality and background. I expect a 4-6 months of waiting for this step.
