It's pretty simple and easy.

Show up, give them your passport. They present you with your COPR. Ask a couple questions: have you been convicted of a crime in Canada or anywhere, have you been denied entry to Canada or anywhere, do you have dependents in Canada or anywhere not listed in your application, etc. Simple non-test questions. You sign, they sign, you can ask questions at that point. And you're done. Like getting a driver's license.
If you have been convicted of a crime, does the situation change? They are aware, I included all documents in my application and rehabilitation has been granted.

If you were, answer accordingly and add that ARC was granted.

Hi everyone, its been a while. Just here for an update. So, we got our first approval in June 2017. They sent us for our medicals which we completed in July and turned in asap. A week later, they updated my file and advised that we passed our med checks. In my situation, I was also required to have forms signed from the non-accompanying parent as well as their photo ID. I sent those in with the med checks. For whatever reason they approved the forms being notarized giving the children permission to become residents in Canada. The only problem was somehow they "lost" the digital copies of the photo ID that was sent with everything else. Due to that happening they requested I resend them and gave me until 9-1-2017 to turn that in. I turned it in the same day it was requested July 27th, 2017. Now I have been waiting since that day with zero updates or information. When I call IRCC, I am told that it is processing. They won't give me any further information. I was under the impression that once first stage approval and med checks were done...this would kind of fly by pretty quickly. It seems to be lagging, and its causing some worry and stress. I am hoping DM is done before the end of the month, due to my kids student visas expiring. I am waiting until like the 20th of the month to send it in for extension, in hopes to save some money if the DM comes through. Their visas expire on the 30th of September. I am fairly certain that if between now and then I send in for extension and then the DM comes through, I wouldn't be able to get a refund for the visa extensions and would be out $450.00.

Any suggestions, advice?

I know exactly how you feel. I sent mine in July 2016 and it has been such a slow tedious process. Once it started moving along I was thrilled but it is lagging again and that is worrisome. Good luck with your application!!! Keep the faith, I know I sure am trying to do just that.

In life there are always gonna be speed bumps...... before pr we had to wait months to get updates after pr we have to wait hours in line to get medcare. Why is there only one office in Montreal? Anyone knows if they are hiring? Seems like they need workers!!!
Been here since 9 :(
Oh sorry to read that. They are quite efficient in the Quebec office. We went twice for my wife (after CSQ, we thought she could register) and in both occasions, it took less than 15 minutes to talk to an agent.

Don't over worry! That's an exception, not the norm.

Involve your MP. Explain that you aren't getting the answers you need from IRCC, and you need to know if you should be extending the study Visas.

If you get your spouse to call first, it will likely get more attention from the MP.

Congratulations! And thanks to share all. If it does not disturb you, could you please share more detail about why it was so long for your case? That will help us a lot, thank you.
