Glad you enjoyed that. Turns out, it wasn't political at all. But, granted, I make anecdotes that are intended to make people laugh or smile. But this certainly wasn't one of those..dominicantiguan said:

The process is hard enough for everyone. I know, I am a member, remember? When people persistently always have progressively negative comments about the process or the wait, what do you expect the result will be? Simple psychology. It will spread like a virus. It doesn't help anyone.
To me, it's way out of line to equate a refugee to someone who lives a reasonably (all things considered, of course) comfortable / safe life. That's not political, that's human decency 101.
Anyway, focusing on the positive, and sharing laughs along the way makes it way easier than persistent hate-bred tunnelvision ... "omg the process is soooo hard" type talk. Of course it will be super stressful -- you fed that stress back onto yourself.
