Hi all,

I got my landing interview next week :).. Thankyou @profiler and @sylvian1 for guiding me so far :).. They asked me to bring the below docs , passport and 2 photos

Ø Documents issued to you by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada - what am I supposed to take it for this one? I am thinking to take my open work permit with me

o You must provide evidence of cohabitation - I am taking drivers license and spousal RRSP receipt. Is it enough?

Ø Proof you have paid the $490 Right of Permanent Residence Fee. - Receipt of $1040. Is this is enough?
1- yes work/study permits, even the expired ones.
2- the wording is strange to me... as they should have already established your cohabitation... but yes driving licences showing the same address. Governmental letters (like notice of assessment from Canada revenue agency or something similar)
3- yes your 1040$ receipt includes the 490$ for rprf.

I did 2 schedule A. CPC-M and CPC-vegreville. If you have a copy of the one you sent previously, look carefully at it. This document require serious concentration and consistency. You can't leave gaps. . . .

CPC M sent me an email requesting it - it didn't go through my gckey like before which is odd. I checked it numerous times and @profiler had a look at it too. I want to believe it's an error since it doesn't say anything on ECAS about sent correspondence or my gckey but who knows. I'm gonna call tomorrow to find out

Sorry to read that... make sure there is absolutely no gaps in dates.
It's really terrible. Especially seeing as it could take another 2 months for them to look at my file again.

I'm willing to send anyone the documents to have a look at it too as I'm sure there are no gaps

Congratulations! That mean you are done! Only your landing remains. You might receive AIP and/or DM letters, but some people don't receive them at all or with some delay. For sure, in a few weeks (1-8) depending on your location, you will receive a letter giving you the time and date of your landing interview. Again, congratulations!
Thanks @sylvain1,I was really surprised this morning when I saw decision made! Finally, exactly one year from the day I applied! I still can't believe!I'll probably wait long for landing because I'm in Mississauga..And u guys are amazing,I found so many answers here on this forum! Keep up the good work!

I forgot that @profiler already had a look at it. I'm quite surprised as well... yes probably that a call is needed to confirm they really want it again.

Hi guys, just a quick update on my application. I had received a letter on July 24 asking for evidence of cohabitation. I sent all the required documents in probably the next day . A few days after my spouse received SA letter. Then on Aug 8th we got an email saying the documents had been forwarded to the officer. Last night at 11:07pm i got an email saying i have a message in my account. checked it and it was a letter saying the process was complete and that Kitchener CIC will let me know when to come in to finalize everything, bring your passport etc ( i'm assuming that's AIP). I guess they're really working overtime with the applications. I wasn't expecting anything till September/October. Thank God. I'm a May 2016 applicant btw.

Congratulations on your DM. Kitchener is normally quite fast to give appointments, so you'll be landing soon.

Can you resend exactly what you sent them? I'll have another look to make sure that something wasn't overlooked. Then, I would either call CIC and/or MP.

It sounds like they've zeroed-in on a specific problem in the form. I seem to recall discussion regarding dates. What we did (and what I generally share with others) is it's far better to have overlap then any kind of perceived gap in time.

Example: you move from one place to another at the end of May 2017. It's better to say that you were at that place from whatever date until 2017-06. Then the next place is 2017-06 to whenever.

Even though you have a new place to live, you also have the old place to live (and receive mail at). When they look at these forms, they don't think: "oh they mean 2017-05-31 23:59:59". To them, it can mean "2017-05-01 00:00:00". Then the question becomes: where were you from "2017-05-01 00:00:01 - 2017-05-31 23:59:59"? You can have a lot go on in 31 days.. like jail. Not at all implying that's the case here, but that's exactly the kind of thing CIC is looking for WRT gaps.

The forms are ambiguous, and I think they should have documented examples like I suggested above. Or, for the CIC double agents in the crowd, you should cite a link to this post. Remember to cite your sources ;). The processing time reduction of ~60+ days can be achieved in probably 50% of cases or better, with better documentation.

That's the problem of using the month as the lowest common measurement.

I might suggest having a look at my previous post. There is a link that might be of interest.
Thanks profiler! I also noted that spousal OWP is not on this list, but we are not applying for bridge open work permit, so this shouldn't affect our status. DH checked with his employer, they said as long as he apply for his spousal OWP before the expiry, it will be fine - MP office also told him this before.. In any case, we've applied online, hopefully we get it before the expiry, but if not, guess we will find out whether implied status will come into effect in this case. :)
